OVERVIEW
The 3Com®OfficeConnect®Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Router
provides robust routing and security features allowing up to 253 total
wired and wireless users (maximum 64 wireless users) to share a single
broadband connection. Boasting eXtended Range (XR) technology and
wireless data speeds of up to 54 Mbps plus a high-speed routing engine
this Cable/DSL Router is able to handle high-bandwidth applications
confidently. Advanced security features include 128-bit WPA
with TKIP/AES wireless encryption, a stateful packet inspection firewall,
hacker pattern detection, URL filtering, IP and MAC address filtering
and SurfControl’s optional content filtering technology (a 14-day free
trial of which is included with the router, subject to registering the
product at http://esupport.3com.com to get the trial activated). Easy to
set up and use, this product is backed by a market-leading three year
hardware warranty with next business day replacement.
The 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Router with

3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Routers come
with a new advanced chipset which features new baseband architecture
that enables long-range connections. The architecture delivers receive
ensitivities of up to -105dBm, over 20 dB better than the 802.11 speci-
s
fication. This technology provides single access point coverage in home
networking environments, eliminates the dead spots in corporate wireless
LANs, and provides outdoor coverage of up to two times the distance of
competing WLAN solutions.
MULTIPLE SECURITY FEATURES
Advanced wireless security and multiple firewall features offer advanced
levels of protection for the network. To shield wireless connections, the
11g router implements 128-bit WPA/WPA2 with TKIP/AES encryption
for maximum security, along with 40/64 and 128-bit WEP encryption for
legacy clients. URL filtering, including support for the SurfControl Web
Filter service, traffic metering, and other security features help protect
the entire network from attacks and other Internet security risks.

ROBUST ROUTING FEATURES
IP routing (RIP 1 and 2) and static routing allow the router to be used
in multi-network environments. Dynamic Domain Name Service (DNS)
enables users connecting to the Internet with dynamic IP addresses to
use network applications such as Web or FTP servers that normally
require static IP addresses.
