2.2 Sicherheit beim Umgang mit Batterien

VORSICHT!
Batterien können aggressive und ätzende Säuren enthalten. Verhindern Sie
jeden Körperkontakt mit der Batterieflüssigkeit. Sollte es doch zur Berührung
mit Batterieflüssigkeit kommen, so spülen Sie das entsprechende Körperteil
gründlich mit Wasser ab.
Suchen Sie bei Verletzungen durch Säure unbedingt einen Arzt auf.
Tragen Sie während der Arbeit an Batterien keine Metallgegenstände wie
Uhren oder Ringe.
Bleisäure-Batterien können Kurzschluss-Ströme erzeugen, die zu schweren
Verbrennungen führen können.
Tragen Sie eine Schutzbrille und Schutzkleidung, wenn Sie an Batterien
arbeiten. Berühren Sie nicht Ihre Augen, während Sie an Batterien arbeiten.
Rauchen Sie nicht und stellen Sie sicher, dass keine Funken in der Nähe des
Motors oder der Batterie entstehen.
Es sollte sich jemand in Ihrer Nähe befinden, den Sie im Notfall zu Hilfe rufen
können.

4 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Der Battery Refresher kann 12-V-Batterien , die an Bord von Fahrzeugen oder Booten zur
Stromerzeugung genutzt werden, reaktivieren oder vor zu schnellem Altern bewahren.
Der Battery Refresher kann an folgenden Batterietypen verwendet werden:
Blei-Starterbatterien
Gel-Batterien
Vlies-Batterien (AGM)
wartungsfreie Batterien

5 Technische Beschreibung
Die Lebensdauer der meisten Bleiakkus wird durch die sogenannte Sulfatierung verkürzt:
Das Bleisulfat bildet sich im Laufe der Zeit zu glatten, großen Kristallen aus. Dadurch verschwindet die amorphe, schwammige Struktur. Die Ladefähigkeit und damit die Ladekapazität sinken systematisch ab, und die Batterie altert.
Der Battery Refresher entnimmt der Batterie Energie und gibt sie als Stromstoß wieder
zurück. Dadurch werden die Kristalle zum Schwingen in ihrer Eigenfrequenz angeregt.
Sie zerfallen wieder in ihre amorphe Struktur. Ihre Moleküle können wieder in den Ladeprozess integriert werden. Dadurch steigen Ladespannung, Kälteprüfstrom und Kapazität
der Batterie wieder an.
Sämtliche Bleibatterien werden vor verfrühtem Altern bewahrt.
Der Anschluss des Battery Refreshers ist sinnvoll an Batterien bis zu 300 Ah.

Der Battery Refresher darf nicht an anderen Batterietypen (z. B. NiCd, NiMH
usw.) oder defekten Batterien (z. B. mit Zellenschluss) verwendet werden.
HINWEIS
Der Battery Refresher ersetzt kein Ladegerät, sondern arbeitet nur zusammen
mit einem Ladegerät oder während der Fahrt.

6 Battery Refresher montieren
➤ Befestigen Sie den Battery Refresher durch eine der beiden Möglichkeiten:
– Kleben Sie ihn mit dem im Lieferumfang enthaltenen doppelseitigen Klebeband an
die gewünschte Stelle (z. B. an der Batterie).
– Schrauben Sie den Battery Refresher mit 3-mm-Schauben an eine Wand (nicht an
die Batterie).

➤ Schließen Sie das schwarze Kabel (–) mit dem Kabelschuh an den Minuspol der
Batterie an.
➤ Schließen Sie das rote Kabel (+) mit dem Kabelschuh an den Pluspol der Batterie an.
7 Battery Refresher benutzen
Der Battery Refresher schaltet sich automatisch ein, wenn die Batteriespannung größer
ist als 12,8 V. Die grüne LED leuchtet.
Wenn die Batteriespannung unter 12,6 V sinkt, schaltet sich der Battery Refresher aus.
Die grüne LED erlischt.
8 Battery Refresher pflegen und reinigen

➤ Reinigen Sie das Produkt gelegentlich mit einem feuchten Tuch.
ACHTUNG!
Beachten Sie die Polarität.
Das Verpolen der Anschlüsse kann den Battery Refresher zerstören.
HINWEIS
Sie müssen die Polklemmen zum Anschluss des Battery Refreshers nicht von
den Batteriepolen entfernen.
ACHTUNG!
Keine scharfen oder harten Gegenstände oder Reinigungsmittel zur Reinigung
verwenden, da dies zu einer Beschädigung des Produktes führen kann.

9 Gewährleistung
Es gilt die gesetzliche Gewährleistungsfrist. Sollte das Produkt defekt sein, wenden Sie
sich bitte an die Niederlassung des Herstellers in Ihrem Land (Adressen siehe Rückseite
der Anleitung) oder an Ihren Fachhändler.
Zur Reparatur- bzw. Gewährleistungsbearbeitung müssen Sie folgende Unterlagen mitschicken:
eine Kopie der Rechnung mit Kaufdatum,
einen Reklamationsgrund oder eine Fehlerbeschreibung.
10 Entsorgung
➤ Geben Sie das Verpackungsmaterial möglichst in den entsprechenden Recycling-
Müll.

2.2 Safety precautions when handling batteries

CAUTION!
Batteries contain aggressive and caustic acids. Avoid battery fluid coming
into contact with your body. If your skin does come into contact with battery
fluid, wash the part of your body in question thoroughly with water.
If you sustain any injuries from acids, contact a doctor immediately.
When working on the batteries, do not wear any metal objects such as
watches or rings.
Lead acid batteries can cause short circuits which can cause serious injuries.
Wear goggles and protective clothing when you work on batteries. Do not
touch your eyes when you are working on the battery.
Do not smoke and ensure that no sparks can arise in the vicinity of the engine
or battery.
There should be someone in the area who you can call in the event of an
emergency.

Only use rechargeable batteries.
Follow the instructions of the battery manufacturer and those of the manufac-
turer of the system or vehicle in which the battery is used.
If you need to remove the battery, first disconnect the earth connection. Dis-
connect all connections and all consumers from the battery before removing
it.

4 Intended use
The Battery Refresher can charge or supply a retention voltage to 12 V batteries which
are used to generate power, reactivate or keep from premature ageing in vehicles or on
boats.
The Battery Refresher can be used for the following types of battery:
Lead automotive batteries
Gel batteries
Fleece batteries (AGM)
Maintenance-free batteries

5 Technical description
The service life of most lead batteries is reduced by sulphation: lead sulphate forms into
large, smooth crystals over the course of time and the amorphous, spongy structure disappears. The ability to recharge and therefore the charging capacity gradually decreases
and the battery ages.
The Battery Refresher extracts the battery energy and returns it as a current surge. This
causes the crystals to vibrate in their resonant frequency. They fall back into their amorphous structure. Their molecules can be integrated back into the charging process which
in turn increases the charging voltage, starting current and the capacity of the battery
again.
All lead batteries are protected from premature ageing.
Connecting the Battery Refresher makes sense for batteries up to 300° Ah.

The Battery Refresher may not be used on other battery types (such as NiCd,
NiMH etc.) or defective batteries (for example with a cell short circuit).
NOTE
The Battery Refresher does not replace a charging device but only works in
conjunction with a charging device or while travelling.

6 Installing the Battery Refresher
➤ Attach the Battery Refresher using one of the two options here:
– Stick it to the required place such as the battery, using the double-sided adhesive
tape included in the scope of delivery.
– Screw the Battery Refresher to a wall with 3 mm screws (not to the battery).

➤ Connect the black cable (–) with the cable lug to the negative terminal of the battery.
➤ Connect the red cable (+) with the cable lug to the positive terminal of the battery.
7 Using the Battery Refresher
The Battery Refresher switches on automatically if the battery voltage is above 12.8 V.
The green LED lights up.
If the battery voltage drops below 12.6 V, the Battery Refresher switches off. The green
LED goes out.
8 Maintaining and cleaning the Battery Refresher

➤ Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth.
9Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the
manufacturer's branch in your country (see the back of the instruction manual for the
addresses) or your retailer.
For repair and guarantee processing, please include the following documents when you
send in the device:
A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
A reason for the claim or description of the fault
NOTICE!
Observe the polarity.
Reversing the polarity of the connections can damage the Battery Refresher.
NOTE
You do not need to remove the terminals for connecting the Battery Refresher
from the battery poles.
NOTICE!
Do not use sharp or hard objects or cleaning agents for cleaning as these may
damage the product.

➤ Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever
possible.

2.2 Consignes de sécurité concernant la manipulation de batteries

ATTENTION !
Les batteries peuvent contenir des acides caustiques et corrosifs. Évitez tout
contact avec le liquide que contient la batterie. En cas de contact avec le
liquide de la batterie, lavez soigneusement à l'eau la partie du corps concernée.
Faites impérativement examiner par un médecin toute blessure causée par
l'acide.
Lorsque vous manipulez les batteries, veillez à ne porter aucun objet métal-
lique tel que montre ou bague.
Les batteries au plomb-acide peuvent générer des courants de court-circuit
susceptibles d'entraîner de graves brûlures.
Portez des lunettes ainsi que des vêtements de protection lorsque vous mani-
pulez la batterie. Ne vous touchez pas les yeux pendant le travail sur la batterie.
Ne fumez pas et assurez-vous qu'aucune étincelle n'est générée à proximité
du moteur ou de la batterie.
Veillez à ce qu'une personne susceptible de vous aider en cas d'urgence se
trouve à proximité.

Le Battery Refresher peut réactiver ou prolonger la durée de vie de batteries de 12 V utilisées comme source de courant à bord de véhicules ou de bateaux.
Le Battery Refresher peut être utilisé pour les types de batterie suivants :

Batteries au gel
Batteries à recombinaison de gaz (AGM)

5 Description technique
La durée de vie de la plupart des batteries au plomb est raccourcie par ce que l'on appelle
le sulfatage : avec le temps, le sulfate de plomb forme de grands cristaux lisses. Cela fait
disparaître la structure amorphe, spongieuse. La possibilité de chargement et donc la
capacité de chargement chutent systématiquement, et la batterie vieillit.
Le Battery Refresher prend de l'énergie à la batterie et la lui redonne sous forme d'impulsion de courant. Les cristaux sont ainsi incités à vibrer à leur propre fréquence. Ils
reviennent à leur structure amorphe. Leurs molécules peuvent de nouveau être intégrées
dans le processus de charge. Cela permet de faire augmenter la tension de charge, le
courant d'essai de décharge à froid et la capacité de la batterie.
Toutes les batteries au plomb sont ainsi protégées d'un vieillissement précoce.
Le raccordement du Battery Refresher est pertinent pour des batteries allant jusqu'à
300 Ah.

6 Montage du Battery Refresher
➤ Fixez le Battery Refresher à l'aide de l'une des deux possibilités suivantes :
– avec le ruban adhésif double face fourni, collez-le à l'endroit souhaité (p. ex. au
niveau de la batterie).
– Vissez le Battery Refresher avec des vis de 3 mm sur un mur (pas au niveau de la
batterie).

➤ Branchez le câble noir (–) avec la cosse sur le pôle négatif de la batterie.
➤ Branchez le câble rouge (+) avec la cosse sur le pôle positif de la batterie.
7 Utilisation du Battery Refresher
Le Battery Refresher s'allume automatiquement lorsque la tension de la batterie est supérieure à 12,8 V. La DEL verte est allumée.
Lorsque la tension de la batterie devient inférieure à 12,6 V, le Battery Refresher s'éteint.
La DEL verte s'éteint.
8 Entretien et nettoyage du Battery Refresher

➤ Nettoyez le produit avec un tissu humide.
AVIS !
Respectez la polarité.
Une inversion de la polarité des raccordements peut détruire le Battery
Refresher.
REMARQUE
Vous n'êtes pas obligé de retirer les bornes des pôles de la batterie pour le
raccordement du Battery Refresher.
AVIS !
N’utilisez aucun objet coupant ou dur, ni de détergents pour le nettoyage. Cela
pourrait endommager le produit.

2.2 Seguridad al manipular baterías

¡ATENCIÓN!
Las baterías pueden contener ácidos agresivos y corrosivos. Evite el con-
tacto del líquido de la batería con cualquier parte del cuerpo. Si a pesar de
ello entrase en contacto con dicho líquido, enjuague bien con agua la parte
afectada.
Si se han producido lesiones debidas a ácidos, acuda al médico.
Mientras manipule baterías no lleve objetos de metal como relojes o anillos.
Las baterías de plomo-ácido pueden producir corrientes de cortocircuito que
podrían provocar graves quemaduras.
Lleve gafas y ropa de protección cuando manipule baterías. No se lleve
nunca las manos a los ojos mientras esté manipulando baterías.
No fume y asegúrese de que no salte ninguna chispa en las cercanías del
motor o de la batería.
Es conveniente que mientras esté realizando estos trabajos haya alguien
cerca de usted para que pueda pedir ayuda en caso de emergencia.

4 Uso adecuado
El Battery Refresher puede reactivar o proteger del desgaste rápido a las baterías de
12 V que se utilizan a bordo de vehículos o embarcaciones para producir corriente.
El Battery Refresher puede utilizarse en los siguientes tipos de baterías:
Baterías de arranque de plomo
Baterías de gel
Baterías AGM
Baterías sin mantenimiento

5 Descripción técnica
La vida útil de la mayoría de baterías de plomo queda reducida por la llamada sulfatación:
el sulfato plúmbico forma con el paso del tiempo cristales grandes y lisos. Por ello desaparece la estructura amorfa y poco definida. La facilidad y la capacidad de carga se
reducen sistemáticamente y la batería se deteriora.
El Battery Refresher extrae la energía de la batería y la devuelve como impulso de
corriente. De esta forma se produce la oscilación de los cristales en su propia frecuencia.
Estos se desintegran en su estructura amorfa. Sus moléculas pueden volver a integrarse
en el proceso de carga. De esta forma aumentan de nuevo la tensión de carga, la
corriente de ensayo en frío y la capacidad de la batería.
Todas las baterías de plomo quedan protegidas frente al desgaste prematuro.
La conexión del Battery Refresher es adecuada para baterías de hasta 300 Ah.

El Battery Refresher no debe utilizarse en otros tipos de baterías (p. ej. NiCd,

6 Montaje del Battery Refresher
➤ Fije el Battery Refresher de una de las dos maneras:
– Adhiéralo a la posición que desee (p. ej. a la batería) con la cinta adhesiva por los
dos lados suministrada en el volumen de entrega.
– Atornille el Battery Refresher con tornillos de 3 mm a una pared (no a la batería).

➤ Conecte el cable de color negro (–) con el terminal de cable al polo negativo de la
batería.
➤ Conecte el cable de color rojo (+) con el terminal de cable al polo positivo de la bate-
ría.
7 Uso del Battery Refresher
El Battery Refresher se enciende automáticamente cuando la tensión de la batería es
mayor que 12,8 V. El LED verde se ilumina.
Si la tensión de la batería desciende por debajo de 12,6 V, el Battery Refresher se apaga.
El LED verde se apaga.
8 Limpieza y mantenimiento del Battery Refresher

➤ Limpie de vez en cuando el producto con un paño húmedo.
¡AVISO!
Preste atención a la polaridad.
Si la polaridad no es correcta puede dañarse el Battery Refresher.
NOTA
Para conectar el Battery Refresher no debe retirar los bornes de los polos de
la batería.

No utilice ningún objeto o producto de limpieza corrosivo o duro en la limpieza,
ya que podría dañar el producto.

9 Garantía legal
Rige el plazo de garantía legal. Si el producto presenta algún defecto, diríjase a la
sucursal del fabricante de su país (ver direcciones en el dorso de estas instrucciones) o
a su establecimiento especializado.
Para la tramitación de la reparación y de la garantía debe enviar también los siguientes
documentos:
una copia de la factura con fecha de compra,
el motivo de la reclamación o una descripción de la avería.
10 Gestión de residuos

2.2 Sicurezza durante l'uso delle batterie

ATTENZIONE!
Le batterie possono contenere acidi aggressivi e corrosivi. Evitare che il
liquido delle batterie venga a contatto con la pelle. Qualora si verifichi un contatto, lavare accuratamente con acqua la parte del corpo compromessa.
Qualora si verifichino ferite dovute all'acido, chiamare immediatamente un
medico.
Quando si opera sulle batterie non indossare oggetti di metallo ad es. orologi
o anelli.
Le batterie al piombo acido possono creare correnti di cortocircuito che possono causare gravi ustioni.
Portare occhiali e abbigliamento di protezione quando si lavora con le batte-
rie. Quando si opera con le batterie, evitare di toccarsi gli occhi.
Non fumare e assicurarsi che non vengano prodotte scintille in prossimità del
motore o della batteria.
Assicurarsi che ci sia qualcuno nelle vicinanze in grado di intervenire in caso
di emergenza.

Il battery refresher può riattivare o preservare dall'invecchiamento, batterie da 12 V impiegate per produrre energia su veicoli o imbarcazioni.
Il battery refresher può essere utilizzato con i seguenti tipi di batteria:
batterie d'avviamento al piombo
batterie al gel
batterie AGM
batterie esenti da manutenzione

5 Descrizione tecnica
La durata della maggior parte delle batterie al piombo viene ridotta dal cosiddetto fenomeno di solfonazione. Il solfato di piombo con il passare del tempo forma grossi cristalli
lisci. Di conseguenza scompare la struttura amorfa spugnosa. La capacità di carica e
quindi l'autonomia di carica si riducono sistematicamente e la batteria invecchia.
Il battery refresher sottrae l'energia della batteria cedendola di nuovo come balzo di
corrente. In questo modo i cristalli vengono stimolati a oscillare nella loro frequenza,
decomponendosi di nuovo nella loro struttura amorfa. Le loro molecole possono essere
nuovamente integrate nel processo di carica. In questo modo la tensione di carica, la corrente di prova a freddo e la capacità della batteria aumentano di nuovo.
Tutte le batterie al piombo vengono preservate da un invecchiamento precoce.
Il collegamento del battery refresher è opportuno per batterie fino a 300 Ah.

Il battery refresher non può essere utilizzato con altri tipi di batteria (ad es.
NiCd, NiMH ecc.) o batterie difettose (ad es. con celle in cortocircuito).
NOTA
Il battery refresher non sostituisce nessun caricabatteria, ma funziona solo
insieme a un caricabatteria o durante il viaggio.
