USAGE AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

••Read these instructions carefully before using the unit. Keep this instruction during the whole operation period.

••Mishandling the unit can lead to its breakage and cause harm to the user or damage to his/ her property.

••Before switching the unit on for the first time, make sure that the operating voltage of the coffee maker corresponds to the voltage of your mains.

••The power cord is equipped with a «europlug»; plug it into the socket with a reliable grounding contact.

••To avoid the risk of fire, do not use adapters for connecting the coffee maker to the mains.

••Use the coffee maker according to its intended purpose only.

••Do not use the unit outdoors.

••Never leave or keep the coffee maker in places with the temperature below 0°C.

••Place the coffee maker on a dry flat stable surface; do not place it on the edge of the table.

••Do not place the coffee maker on hot surfaces.

••Do not use the coffee maker near heat and moisture sources and near open flame.

••Do not let the power cord hang from the edge of the table and make sure it does not touch hot surfaces or sharp edges of furniture.

••Be careful while operating with outgoing steam.

••To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the coffee maker, power cord or power plug into water or other liquids.

••Use only the accessories supplied.

••Do not switch the coffee maker on if the water tank is empty.

••Fill the tank only with clean cold water, it is recommended to use water additionally cleaned with domestic water filters.

••Before switching the coffee maker on, make sure that all removable parts are installed properly.

••Never leave the operating coffee maker unattended.

••Do not touch the power cord, the plug and the coffee maker body with wet hands.

••To avoid burns, do not touch hot surfaces of the coffee maker (the filter holder, the boiler, the cappuccinator pipe) during coffee making and right after switching the unit off.

••Let the unit cool down completely before cleaning it or removing the accessories.

••Do not remove the filter holder during coffee maker operation.

••Unplug the coffee maker before cleaning or when you are not using it.

••When unplugging the unit, pull the plug but not the cord.

••This unit is not intended for usage by children.

••Place the unit out of reach of children during the operation and cooling down.

••Do not allow children to touch the unit body and the power cord during the unit operation.

••The unit is not intended to be used by people with physical, sensory or mental disabilities (including children) or by persons lacking experience or knowledge if they are not under supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety or if they are not instructed by this person on the usage of the unit.

••Do not use the unit if the coffee maker body, the power cord or the power plug is damaged. If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, a maintenance service or similar qualified personnel to avoid danger.

••Do not repair the unit by yourself. Do not disassemble the unit by yourself, if any malfunction is detected or after it was dropped, unplug the unit and contact any authorized service center from the contact address list given in the warranty certificate and on the website www.vitek.ru.

••Transport the unit in the original packaging only.

••Keep the unit in a dry cool place out of reach of children and people with disabilities.

THIS UNIT IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. ITS COMMERCIAL USAGE AND USAGE IN PRODUCTION AREAS AND WORK SPACES IS PROHIBITED.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

After unit transportation or storage at low temperature keep it for at least three hours at room temperature before switching on.

–Take the coffee maker out of the package and remove the packaging materials.

–Check the unit for damages; do not use it in case of damages.

–Make sure that operating voltage of the coffee maker corresponds to the voltage of your mains.

–The unit is intended for operation with AC system and 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequency. The unit does not need any additional settings for operating with the required nominal frequency.

–Before using the coffee maker for the first time, wash all removable parts (2, 9, 10, 13) with warm water and neutral detergent and dry them.

BEFORE USING THE UNIT

Notes: - if you switched the coffee maker on and don’t do anything, the coffee maker would be switched off in 25 minutes.

Before making coffee wash the coffee maker boiler.

••Remove the water tank (2), fill it with cold water up to the «MAX» mark and install it back to its place.

••Insert one coffee filter (9) into the holder (10), do not add ground coffee into the filter (9).

••Install the filter holder (10) back to its installation place. The filter holder (10) ledges should

match the groves on the boiler «», after that turn the filter holder handle (7) to the utmost right position « ».

••Place a suitable cup on the tray grid (6).

••Insert the power plug into the mains socket.

••Switch the coffee maker on by pressing the button (17) «», you will hear a sound signal and the button (17) illumination will light up, the but-

tons (15, 16) «» illumination will light up and start flashing. Wait until water in the boiler

heats up, the buttons (15, 16) «,» illumination will be glowing constantly.

••Press the button (15) «», the pump will switch on for 3 seconds; after a pause the pump will be switched on and the water will be supplied constantly. After the cup is filled with water, switch the water supply off by pressing

the button (15) «» again, pour the water out of the cup.

••Depending on the cup capacity repeat this procedure several times until the boiler is clean.

ATTENTION!

–Do not remove the filter holder (10) during coffee maker operation.

–To remove the filter holder (10) turn the filter

holder handle to the utmost left position « » and remove the holder (10).

Washing the cappuccinator pipe (4) and the removable tip (5)

••Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank (2).

••Place a suitable cup under the tip (5).

••Switch the coffee maker on by pressing the button (13) «».

••Press the steam supply button (9) «».

ful while operating with outgoing steam, after 10-15 seconds set the control knob (3) to the position « ».

••Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the button (13) «».

••Remove the tray grid (6), remove the tray and pour the water out of it, install the tray and the grid (6) back to their places.

••The coffee maker is ready for operation.

MAKING ESPRESSO

••Remove the water tank (2), fill it with cold water up to the «MAX» mark and install it back to its place. Make sure that the water level in the tank (2) is not below the mark «MIN», regularly add water to the tank (2).

••Put ground coffee in one filter (9) using the measuring spoon (13), slightly tamp the coffee with the back side of the measuring spoon (13).

••Install the filter holder (10) back to its installation place. The filter holder (10) ledges should

match the groves on the boiler «», after that turn the filter holder handle (12) to the utmost right position «».

••Place the cup on the tray grid (6).

••Insert the power plug into the mains socket.

••Switch the coffee maker on by pressing the button (17) «», you will hear a sound signal and the button (17) illumination will light up.

Notes:

–it is recommended to fill the boiler with water before making coffee.

Notes: - the cups used need to be preheated; to do this, place the cups on the upper tray, while water is heated in the boiler, the tray heats up, thus warming the cups.

••To make one cup of espresso use a small filter

(9) and press the button (16) «», the pump will switch on for 3 seconds for preliminary soaking of coffee; after a pause the pump will be switched on and operate for 60 seconds (the operation time is set by default).

••To make two cups of espresso use a big filter (9) and press the button (15) «»,

in this case set one big or two small cups on the grid (6). When you press the button (15) «», the pump will switch on for 3 seconds for preliminary soaking of coffee; after a pause the pump will be switched on and operate for 60 seconds (the operation time is set by default).

Setting the amount of ready coffee

••If necessary, you can set up the pump operation time, in this case the amount of ready coffee will be different.

••Wait until water in the boiler heats up, the but-

tons (15, 16) «,» will be glowing constantly.

••Press and hold the button (16) «», the pump will switch on for 3 seconds for preliminary soaking of coffee; after a pause the pump will be switched on. When the cup is filled to the necessary amount, release the button (16) «

». Next time the coffee maker will make the preset amount of ready coffee.

••Setting the pump operation time for making

two cups of coffee (the button (15) «») is similar to settings for one cup.

••To restore the default setting simultaneously

press and hold the buttons (16) «» and (14) «» for 3 seconds, you will hear sound signals and the coffee maker will return to the default settings.

Notes:

–the default operation time of the pump is 60 seconds (maximal setting time is 2 minutes). When setting the pump operation time the amount of the ready coffee should be more than 15 ml. Setting of the smaller amount will not be saved in the coffee maker’s memory.

–if you need to switch the water supply off during the coffee making, press the button (15 or 16) again;

–successive making of coffee should be performed with 2-3 min intervals;

–control the tray (6) filling, periodically pour out

the liquid and wash the tray (6). When the tray

(6)is full, the indicator (7) will appear in the tray grid.

••Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the button (13) «».

••Wait until the coffee maker cools down and remove the filter holder (10), turning the holder

(12)handle to the utmost left position «».

••Remove the ground coffee remnants and wash the filter (9). For easy removing of the coffee remnants use the retainer (11) to prevent the filter (9) from falling off the holder (10).

MAKING CAPPUCCINO

Attention! Be careful not to get burns by the outgoing steam from the cappuccinator pipe (4) and the removable tip (5).

••Make coffee, as described in the chapter «MAKING ESPRESSO», in the warm cup with enough capacity to add frothed milk.

Notes:

–it is recommended to make the necessary amount of espresso before frothing the milk, because the water temperature in the steam supply mode is higher than temperature of water intended for making espresso, so the ready drink may taste different;

–it is recommended to make the next cup of espresso in 5-10 minutes after frothing the milk;

–you can reduce the time of the water temperature decreasing, to do that place a cup under the tip (5).

–turn the steam supply control knob (3) to the position « », steam will start going out from the tip (5), be careful, when the button (14) « » illumination will start flashing, set the con-

trol knob (3) to the position «

».

••Press the steam supply on button (14) «» and wait until the button (14) illumination stops flashing and glows constantly.

••Place a suitable cup under the tip (5), carefully turn the steam supply control knob (3) to the position « » and drain the remaining water and condensed moisture from the cappuccinator pipe (4), make sure that the outgoing steam is homogeneous and without water.

••Switch the steam supply off by setting the steam supply control knob (3) to the position «».

••Put the tip (5) into the bowl with cold milk or cream, the tip (5) must not touch the bottom of the bowl otherwise the steam outgoing will be hindered.

••Set the steam supply control knob (3) to the

position « ».

Notes: - to avoid splashing milk always immerse the tip (5) deeper than 1 cm from the milk surface.

••The outgoing steam creates whirls which froths milk; from time to time lift and lower the

bowl with milk against the tip (5) to make the milk foam.

••Be careful while operating with outgoing steam; after you finish frothing the milk, switch the steam supply off by setting the control knob (3) to the position «».

••Add frothed milk to the cup of coffee.

••Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the button (17) «».

Notes: - making the milk foam is an art. You may not make it at the first try, don’t worry and experiment until you achieve good results.

IMPORTANT:

–It is important that milk for making foam is fresh and without additives, is not so-called long storage milk.

–Use regular whole milk with fat content from 4% to 6%, the cream fat content should be not less than 10%.

–Clean the cappuccinator pipe (4) and its tip (5) right after milk or cream frothing - to do this, put the cappuccinator pipe (4) with the tip (5) into a glass of water, switch the steam supply on by setting the steam supply knob (3) to the position « », and after that switch the steam supply off by setting the steam supply knob

(3) to the position «» and switch the coffee maker off.

–Wait until the coffee maker cools down and remove the tip (5) from the cappuccinator pipe (4), wipe the cappuccinator pipe (4) with a soft damp cloth and wash the tip (5) under a water jet.

WARMING THE DRINKS

You can warm up your drinks by putting the cappuccinator pipe (4) without the tip (5) into the cup.

••Switch the coffee maker on, press the but-

ton (14) «» and wait until the boiler heats up (the button (14) illumination will glow constantly).

••Put the cappuccinator pipe (4) into the cup with the drink you want to warm up.

••Set the steam supply control knob (3) to the

position «

».

••When the drink heats up to the required temperature, switch the steam supply off by setting the control knob (3) to the position «».

••Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the button (17) «».

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD ESPRESSO

–Use fresh ground coffee for «espresso» coffee makers.

–Slightly tamp the ground coffee in the filter (9), you can do it with the back side of the measuring spoon (13).

–Coffee strength depends on the quality and grinding degree of coffee beans. If coffee is pouring out too long, this means the coffee powder is too fine or it is tamped too strongly.

DESCALING

For effective operation of the coffee maker we recommend removing scale every 2-3 months and more often when using «hard» water.

1.Make citric acid solution: 2 teaspoons of acid to 1 litre of water.

2.Fill the water tank (2) with the solution. Install the water tank (2) to its place.

3.Insert the coffee filter (9) into the holder (10).

4.Install the filter holder (10) into the coffee maker. The filter holder (10) ledges should

match the groves on the boiler «», after that turn the filter holder (12) handle to the utmost right position «».

5.Place a suitable cup on the tray grid (6).

6.Insert the power plug into the socket.

7.Switch the coffee maker on by pressing the button (17) «».

8.Wait until the buttons (15, 16) «,» illumination glows constantly.

9.Press the button (15) «» and fill a cup of about 100 ml capacity with water (it is necessary to drain the water from the boiler and fill the boiler with citric acid solution), switch the water supply off by pressing the button (15) «» again.

10.Remove the tip (5) from the cappuccinator pipe (4) and put a suitable bowl under

the pipe (4). Press the button (14) «» and wait until the boiler heats up (the button (14) illumination will glow constantly). Turn the steam supply control knob (3) to the position « » and switch the steam supply on for 10-15 seconds. Switch the steam supply off by setting the control knob (3) to the position «».

11.Repeat the procedure described in steps

7-10 not less than 3 times. Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the button (17) «». Wait for 10-15 minutes.

12.Switch the coffee maker on by pressing the button (13) «».

13.Wait until the buttons (15, 16) «,» illumination glows constantly.

14.With small intervals, repeat the boiler cleaning procedure (clause 9) until the citric acid solution dissolves in the water tank completely.

15.Fill the water tank (2) with clear water and repeat the clauses 7-10 not less than 3 times without the 10-15 minute break.

16.Switch the coffee maker off by pressing the

button (17) « ».

Notes: - to remove the scale you can use special descaling agents for coffee makers and coffee machines, strictly following the instructions on their usage.

CLEANING

–If during the filters (9) cleaning you find out that the openings are blocked with the ground coffee remnants, you can clean them with a small brush.

–Clean the coffee maker body with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then wipe it dry.

–Do not use metal brushes or abrasives to clean the coffee maker.

–Do not immerse the power cord, the power plug and the coffee maker body into water or other liquids.

–Wash the removable parts (2, 5, 9, 10, 13) of the coffee maker with warm water and neutral detergent, then rinse them and dry.

Drip tray and grid

–A red pop-up indicator (7) in the tray (6) grid will show when the tray (6) is full.

–Remove the grid from the tray (6), remove the tray and pour out water, wash the tray and put it back to its place, put the grid on the tray (6).

STORAGE

–Before taking the unit away for storage, unplug it and let the unit cool down completely.

–Clean the unit.

–Do not leave and keep the coffee maker in places with the temperature below 0°C.

–Keep the unit in a dry cool place away from children and disabled persons.

Программирование объёма готового кофе

сигналы и кофеварка вернётся к заводским настройкам.

Примечания:

–время работы помпы установленное по умолчанию, 60 секунд (максимальное время программирования 2 минуты), при программировании времени работы помпы, объём готового кофе должен быть более 15 мл, программирование меньшего объёма, не будет сохранено в памяти кофеварки.

–повторное приготовление кофе рекомендуется производить с интервалами в 2-3 минуты;

••Дождитесь остывания кофеварки и снимите держатель фильтра (10), повернув ручку держателя (12) влево до упора «».

••Удалите остатки молотого кофе и промойте фильтр (9). Для удобства при удалении остатков кофе используйте удерживатель (11), с помощью которого можно зафиксировать фильтр (9) от выпадения из держателя (10).
