6. Installation Guide

Ø Turn off the power supply
Ø Take down the module panel on the Switch
Ø Push module into Switch along the track smoothly
Ø Screw the module on Switch
Ø Plug fiber/UTP into the module, turn on the power supply of the

Switch. Without any configuration manually, the Gigabit Module
can work

7. Remarks

Ø There are led indicators on the module to show the working

condition. as follows

Ø TL-SM301 module support plug and play ,but must turn off power

supply before install/uninstall, TL-SM371 module support hot plug
and play.

Ø TL-SM301GB don’t work independently, it must be worked with

TL-SM371 series GBIC module.

Ø TL-SM301 module only install in the TP-LINK Switch, do not install

this card in any other brand Switch.

Ø At present. TL-SM301 module can be installed in TL-SL2226P,

TL-SL2226P+ and TL-SL3226P Switches only, we will give a
indication in the user's guide when a new type Switch could use
this card. See our web site for more details:

Warning

In order to avoid ESD, do not touch the parts on the circuit including IC's
pins with your hand directly!

1. Introduction

S: 1000Base-LX Single-mode fiber module, SC connector.

TL-SM301GB: GBIC module card, GBIC interface, it must be worked

with GBIC module together.

TL-SM371CM: GBIC module,

TL-SM371CS: GBIC module, Single

TL-SM371CS-70: GBIC module, Single

TL-SM301 series are Gigabit modules, it uses fiber or Cat.5 Twisted-

pair as transmission media, cooperate with TP-LINK Switch. It can

effectively extend the diameter and bandwidth of the workgroup. TL-

SM301 series of fiber module is fully compliant with IEEE802.3z

protocol. It's wavelengh is about 850nm and 1310nm. TL-SM301 UTP

module is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ab protocol. TL-SM301GB

module card is fully compliant with SFF-8053 GBIC interface standard,

it must be worked with GBIC module(such as TL-SM371 series GBIC

module) together. TL-SM301 series of Gigabit module is easy to use,

can be installed inside the Switch which supply power directly. TL-

SM301 module can cooperate with several series of TP-LINK Switches

.The led indicators upon the module indicate working condition of the

TL-SM301 Series Gigabit Modules.
