Cet appareil est exclusivement destiné à la lecture de CD audio, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3/WMA-CDs, supports mémoire USB, cartes mémoire SD/MMC et pour la réception de stations de radio AM/FM dans des pièces fermées. Tout usage divergeant ou toute utilisation allant au-delà seront considérés comme non conformes. Cet appareil n'est pas conçu pour être utilisé dans des contextes commerciaux ou industriels. Les prétentions de toute nature pour dommages résultant d'un usage non conforme, de réparation non conformes, de modiﬁ cations réalisées sans autorisation ou du recours à des pièces de rechange non autorisées sont exclues. Danger présenté par le courant électrique

DANGER

Danger de mort par le courant électrique ! Il y a danger de mort en cas de contact avec des conduites ou

des pièces sous tension !

Veuillez respecter les consignes de sécurité suivantes, pour éviter le risque d'un choc électrique :

► N'utilisez pas l'appareil lorsque le câble de raccordement ou la ﬁ che de

raccordement sont endommagés.

► N'ouvrez en aucun cas le boîtier. Si des pièces sous tension sont touchées

et le structure électrique et mécanique est modiﬁ ée, il y a un risque de choc électrique.

Consignes de sécurité fondamentales

Veuillez vous conformer aux consignes de sécurité ci-après aﬁ n de garantir la sécurité d'utilisation de l'appareil :

■ Vériﬁ ez la présence de dommages visibles extérieurs avant l'usage de l'appareil.

Ne mettez pas en service un appareil endommagé ou ayant subi une chute.

■ En cas de dommages sur les câbles ou les raccordements, faites-les remplacer

par le personnel technique agréé ou par le service après-vente.

■ Cet appareil n'est pas prévu pour des personnes (y compris des enfants)

dont les capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales ou dont le manque d'expérience ou de connaissances les empêchent d'assurer un usage sûr des appareils, s'ils n'ont pas été surveillés ou initiés au préalable.

■ Les enfants doivent être surveillés aﬁ n d'éviter qu'ils jouent avec l'appareil.

■ Conﬁ ez les réparations sur l'appareil exclusivement à des entreprises agréées

ou au service après-vente. Toutes réparations non conformes peuvent entraîner des risques pour l'utilisateur. A cela s'ajoute l'expiration de la garantie.

■ Toute réparation de l'appareil au cours de la période sous garantie devra

être exclusivement conﬁ ée à un service après-vente agréé par le fabricant, sinon tous dommages se produisant ultérieurement ne seront pas couverts par la garantie.

■ Les pièces défectueuses devront impérativement être remplacées par des

pièces de rechange d'origine. Seules ces pièces garantissent en eﬀ et la satisfaction des critères de sécurité.

■ Protégez l'appareil de l'humidité et de la pénétration de liquides. N'immergez

jamais l'appareil sous l'eau, n'installez jamais l'appareil à proximité de l'eau et ne placez pas de récipients remplis de liquides (par ex. des vases) sur l'appareil.

■ Evitez de poser des objets quelconques sur l'appareil.

■ Ne pas opérer l'appareil à proximité de ﬂ ammes ouvertes (par ex. des bougies).

■ Evitez l'exposition directe au soleil.

■ Toujours retirer la ﬁ che secteur au niveau de la prise, et pas du câble de

raccordement.

■ En cas de perturbations et d'orages, retirez le câble de raccordement de la prise.

■ Pour assurer la coupure intégrale de l'appareil de l'alimentation électrique,

vous devez retirer la ﬁ che secteur de la prise. L'appareil devrait toujours être disposé de manière à permettre en tout temps un accès aisé à la prise secteur aﬁ n de pouvoir débrancher immédiatement la ﬁ che secteur en cas de danger.

■ L'appareil est équipé d'un "laser de classe 1". Ne regardez jamais directe-

ment dans le compartiment CD ouvert. Le rayon laser, invisible, peut provoquer des lésions oculaires.

► En cas de livraison incomplète ou de dommages résultant d'un emballage

défectueux ou du transport, veuillez vous adresser à la hotline du service après-vente (voir le chapitre Service après-vente).

Déballage

♦ Retirez l'appareil du carton. ♦ Retirez tous les matériaux d'emballage.

Mise au rebut de l'emballage

L'emballage protège l'appareil de tous dommages éventuels au cours du transport. Les matériaux d'emballage ont été sélectionnés selon des critères de respect de l'environnement et de recyclage, de sorte qu'ils peuvent être recyclés.

Le retour de l'emballage dans le cycle des matériaux permet d'économiser les matières premières et réduit la formation de déchets. Recyclez les matériaux d'emballage qui ne sont plus utilisés en conformité avec les règles locales en vigueur.

REMARQUE

Dans la mesure du possible, conservez l'emballage d'origine pendant la

période sous garantie, aﬁ n de pouvoir emballer l'appareil en bonne et due forme pour l'expédition si vous étiez amené à faire valoir la garantie.

Exigences au lieu d'installation

Pour assurer l'opération sûre et sans défaillances de l'appareil, le lieu d'installation doit répondre aux conditions suivantes :

■ Posez l'appareil sur un support solide, plat et horizontal.

■ Les surfaces de meubles contiennent potentiellement des composants qui

agressent les pieds en caoutchouc de l'appareil et peuvent les amollir. Le cas échéant, placez un support sous les pieds en caoutchouc de l'appareil.

■ Installez l'appareil de telle manière que les ouvertures d'aération et les haut-

parleurs ne soient pas recouverts.

■ N'opérez pas l'appareil dans un environnement chaud, mouillé ou très

humide ou à proximité de matériaux inﬂ ammables.

■ La prise doit être facilement accessible aﬁ n qu'en cas d'urgence, la ﬁ che

secteur puisse être rapidement retirée.

Raccordement électrique

■ Avant de raccorder l'appareil, veuillez vériﬁ er que les données de raccorde-

ment (tension et fréquence) sur la plaque signalétique correspondent à celles de votre réseau électrique. Ces données doivent correspondre, aﬁ n d'éviter l'apparition de tous dommages au niveau de l'appareil.

■ Protégez le câble de raccordement de surfaces chaudes et d'arêtes très pointues.

■ Veillez à ce que le câble d'alimentation ne soit pas tendu ou plié.

■ Ne laissez pas pendre le câble de raccordement sur les coins (eﬀ et de

trébuchage).

■ Sortez la ﬁ che secteur de la prise lorsque vous n'utilisez pas l'appareil

pendant une longue période.

Antenne baladeuse FM

♦ Déroulez entièrement l'antenne baladeuse 12 pour la réception FM.

Fonctionnement et opération

Ce chapitre contient des remarques importantes sur le fonctionnement et l'opération de l'appareil.

Allumer/éteindre l'éclairage

♦ Appuyez sur la touche LIGHT 9 pour allumer la lumière séquentielle. ♦ Appuyez à nouveau sur la touche LIGHT 9 pour éteindre la lumière

séquentielle.

Allumer/éteindre l'appareil, régler le volume

♦ Tournez le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans le sens des aiguilles

d'une montre pour allumer l'appareil et régler le volume.

♦ Tournez le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans le sens inverse des

aiguilles d'une montre pour réduire le volume et éteindre l'appareil (position OFF).

REMARQUE

► Le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 ne coupe pas complètement l'alimen-

tation électrique. Même en mode veille, l'appareil consomme de l'électricité. Pour entièrement séparer l'appareil du réseau électrique, la ﬁ che secteur doit être retirée de la prise secteur.

Mode radio

Cet appareil permet d'écouter des stations radio sur les bandes de fréquence Ondes ultracourtes (OUC ou angl. FM) et Ondes moyennes (OM ou angl. AM).

REMARQUE

Pour garantir une bonne réception FM, l'antenne baladeuse 12 doit être

►

entièrement déroulée. Orientez l'antenne en mode radio pour bénéﬁ cier de la meilleure réception. L'appareil dispose d'une antenne ferrite encastrée pour la réception des ondes moyennes. Pour améliorer la réception des ondes moyennes, tournez l'appareil dans une orientation plus favorable.

► Les données techniques de l'appareil permettent une plage de fréquence

réglable en dehors de la plage admissible de 87,5 - 108 MHz ou 526,5 1606,5 kHz. Diﬀ érents pays peuvent avoir des régulations nationales diverses sur les plages de fréquence attribuées. Veuillez noter qu'il est strictement interdit d'utiliser, de transmettre à des tiers ou de détourner les informations réceptionnées en dehors de la plage de fréquence attribuée.

♦ Tournez le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans le sens des aiguilles

d'une montre pour allumer l'appareil et régler le volume.

♦ Dépliez le clapet de l'élément d'opération 18. ♦ Mettez le commutateur CD/AM/FM sur "FM" pour la réception des

ondes OUC ou sur "AM" pour la réception des ondes moyennes.

♦ Recherchez la station souhaitée à l'aide du bouton de réglage du

TUNING

♦ Eteignez la radio en tournant le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans

le sens contraire des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à entendre un cliquetis

(position OFF).

Opération fondamentale (en cas de lecture de CD/MP3)

♦ Tournez le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans le sens des aiguilles

d'une montre pour allumer l'appareil et régler le volume.

♦ Dépliez le clapet de l'élément d'opération 18. ♦ Faites glisser le commutateur CD/AM/FM sur "CD". ♦ Ouvrez le compartiment à CD 13 au niveau de la zone marquée "PUSH TO

OPEN" pour ouvrir le compartiment à CD

♦ Placez le CD avec la face imprimée vers l'avant sur l'axe du support à CD.

Appuyez légèrement sur le CD au niveau de son axe jusqu'à ce qu'il soit

correctement enclenché.

♦ Refermez à nouveau le compartiment à CD 13.

L'appareil lit les CD. L'écran aﬃ che ensuite le nombre de titres sur l'écran La lecture du CD démarre automatiquement et l'écran 8 aﬃ che le numéro du titre en cours de lecture et l'indication

♦ Appuyez sur la touche 10, pour avancer vers le prochain titre.

♦ Appuyez sur la touche 11, pour vous rendre au titre précédent.

♦ Appuyez sur la touche 10 (déﬁ lement avant) ou la touche 11

(déﬁ lement arrière) et maintenez-la enfoncée pour activer une recherche et

rechercher un passage donné au sein d'un titre.

♦ Appuyez une fois sur la touche PLAY/PAUSE 16 pour interrompre momenta-

nément la lecture (pause). Appuyez à nouveau sur la touche PLAY/PAUSE 16

pour poursuivre la lecture.

♦ Appuyez sur la touche STOP 15 pour mettre ﬁ n à la lecture.

Lecture de périphériques de stockage USB/cartes mémoire SD/MMC

L'appareil est doté d'un port USB et d'une fente à cartes SD/MMC. Vous pouvez utiliser ces interfaces pour lire des ﬁ chiers MP3 et WMA. Des supports mémoire USB et des cartes mémoire SD/MMC d'une capacité allant jusqu'à 16 GB sont reconnus.

♦ Dépliez le clapet de l'élément d'opération 18. ♦ Raccordez le support mémoire USB avec le port USB 4 ou insérez une

carte mémoire avec l'inscription tournée vers le haut dans la fente à cartes 7.

♦ Tournez le bouton de réglage du VOLUME 17 dans le sens des aiguilles

d'une montre pour allumer l'appareil et régler le volume.

♦ Faites glisser le commutateur CD/AM/FM sur "CD". ♦ Appuyez sur la touche CD/USB/SD et maintenez-la enfoncée 16, jusqu'à

ce que l'aﬃ chage

L'appareil lit à présent le support respectif. Ensuite, le nombre de dossiers disponibles s'aﬃ che sur l'écran qu'ils contiennent. La lecture démarre automatiquement et l'écran en alternance le numéro du titre et du dossier. Ensuite, ﬁ chier (MP3 ou WMA) s'aﬃ chent sur l'écran SD/MMC 6 s'allume.

REMARQUE

► Il n'est pas possible de sauter ou de sélectionner directement le dossier. La

lecture commence toujours par le premier titre sur le support.

♦ La suite de l'opération est identique à la lecture de CDs (cf. également le

chapitre Opération fondamentale (pour la lecture de CD/MP3)).

♦ Avant de séparer le support mémoire USB du port USB 4 ou de retirer la

carte mémoire SD/MMC de la fente à cartes 7, arrêtez la lecture à l'aide

de la touche STOP 15.

supports d'enregistrement Flash, nous ne pouvons pas garantir la lecture de tous les supports d'enregistrement. Il n'est pas possible de lire les disques durs qui sont raccordés avec le port USB 4.

► Retirez la ﬁ che secteur de la prise, avant de commencer à nettoyer.

ATTENTION

Dommages sur l'appareil !

► Assurez-vous lors du nettoyage qu'aucune humidité ne pénètre dans

l'appareil pour éviter tous dommages irréparables sur l'appareil.

Nettoyer le boîtier

■ Nettoyez les surfaces de l'appareil à l'aide d'un chiﬀ on doux et sec.

■ Nettoyez le laser de CD à intervalles réguliers. Pour ce faire, utilisez un

CD de nettoyage usuel.

Dépannage

Le tableau ci-dessous est destiné à vous aider à localiser de petits dysfonctionnements et à y remédier :

Le port USB 4 est prévu pour les appareils qui fonctionnent selon la norme USB. Tous les appareils disponibles sur le marché ne satisfont pas à cette norme. Il se peut qu'un appareil non conforme à la norme USB soit raccordé.

La carte est éventuellement défectueuse, sale ou pas correctement insérée.

Insérez la ﬁ che secteur dans la prise secteur.

Vériﬁ ez les fusibles domestiques.

Elevez le volume à l'aide du bouton de réglage du VOLUME

Lancez la lecture en appuyant sur la touche PLAY/PAUSE

Recherchez la station souhaitée à l'aide du bouton de réglage du TUNING

En déplaçant l'antenne baladeuse 12 essayez d'améliorer la réception.

Branchez un appareil opérant selon la norme USB. Assurez-vous que le support de données soit formaté avec le système de ﬁ chier FAT32.

Vériﬁ ez la carte. Insérez une carte mémoire avec l'inscription tournée vers le haut dans la fente à cartes Assurez-vous que le support de données soit formaté avec le système de ﬁ chier FAT32.

Entreposage/Mise au rebut

Entreposage

Si vous n'utilisez pas l'appareil pendant une période prolongée, coupez-le de l'alimentation électrique et entreposez-le dans un endroit propre et sec, à l'abri de l'exposition directe aux rayons du soleil.

Mise au rebut de l'appareil

L'appareil ne doit jamais être jeté dans la poubelle domestique

normale. Ce produit est assujetti à la directive européenne 2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Eliminez l'appareil par l'intermédiaire d'une entreprise de traitement des déchets

autorisée ou via le service de recyclage de votre commune. Respectez la réglementation en vigueur. En cas de doute, prenez contact avec votre centre de recyclage.

Gefeliciteerd met de aankoop van uw nieuwe apparaat. U hebt hiermee gekozen voor een hoogwaardig product. De bedieningshandlei-

ding maakt deel uit van dit product. Deze bevat belangrijke aanwijzingen voor veiligheid, gebruik en afvoeren. Maak uzelf voorafgaand aan het gebruik van het product vertrouwd met alle bedienings- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Gebruik het product uitsluitend op de voorgeschreven wijze en voor de aangegeven doeleinden. Berg deze gebruiksaanwijzing zorgvuldig op. Geef alle documenten mee als u het product doorgeeft aan een derde.

Gebruik in overeenstemming met bestemming

Dit apparaat is uitsluitend bestemd voor het afspelen van audio-CD's, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3/WMA-CD's, USB-geheugenmedia, SD/MMC-geheugenkaarten en voor de ontvangst van MW- / UKW-radioprogramma's in gesloten ruimtes. Een ander of verdergaand gebruik geldt als niet in overeenstemming met de bestemming. Het apparaat is niet bedoeld voor gebruik in bedrijfsmatige of industriële omgevingen. De fabrikant aanvaardt geen aansprakelijkheid voor schade als gevolg van het niet in acht nemen van de gebruiksaanwijzing, gebruik dat niet in overeenstemming met de bestemming is, onvakkundige reparaties, veranderingen die ongeoorloofd zijn uitgevoerd of gebruik van reserve-onderdelen die niet zijn toegelaten. Het risico is uitsluitend voor de gebruiker.

Waarschuwingen

In de onderhavige gebruiksaanwijzing worden de volgende waarschuwingen gebruikt:

GEVAAR

Een waarschuwing op dit niveau van gevaar duidt op een dreigende gevaarlijke situatie.

Als de gevaarlijke situatie niet wordt vermeden, kan dit fataal of zwaar letsel tot gevolg hebben.

► De aanwijzingen in deze waarschuwing in acht nemen, om gevaar voor

fataal of zwaar letsel van personen te vermijden.

WAARSCHUWING

Een waarschuwing op dit niveau van gevaar duidt op een eventuele gevaarlijke situatie.

Als de gevaarlijke situatie niet wordt vermeden, kan dit letsel tot gevolg hebben.

► De aanwijzingen in deze waarschuwingen in acht nemen, om letsel van

personen te vermijden.

Een waarschuwing op dit niveau van gevaar duidt op een eventuele materiële schade.

Als de gevaarlijke situatie niet wordt vermeden, kan dit materiële schade tot gevolg hebben.

Veiligheid

In dit hoofdstuk krijgt u belangrijke veiligheidsinstructies voor de omgang met het apparaat.

Dit apparaat voldoet aan de gestelde veiligheidsvoorschriften. Een verkeerd gebruik kan leiden tot persoonlijk letsel en materiële schade.

Gevaar door elektrische stroom

GEVAAR

Levensgevaar door elektrische stroom! In geval van contact met leidingen of delen die onder spanning

staan bestaat er levensgevaar!

Neem de volgende veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht om een gevaar door elektrische stroom te vermijden:

► Gebruik het apparaat niet, als het netsnoer of de stekker beschadigd is. ► Open in geen geval de behuizing. Er bestaat gevaar voor een elektrische

schok bij aanraking van spanningsgeleidende delen en als de elektrische en mechanische constructie verandert.

Basisveiligheidsvoorschriften

Neem de volgende veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht voor een veilige omgang met het apparaat:

■ Controleer het apparaat vóór het gebruik op uitwendig zichtbare schade.

Gebruik geen apparaat dat beschadigd of gevallen is.

■ In geval van beschadiging van de netsnoeren of aansluitingen laat u deze

eerst door geautoriseerd en vakkundig personeel of door de klantenservice vervangen.

■ Dit apparaat is niet bedoeld voor gebruik door personen (met inbegrip van

kinderen) met beperkte fysieke, zintuiglijke of geestelijke vermogens of met gebrek aan ervaring en/of gebrek aan kennis, tenzij ze onder toezicht staan van een voor hun veiligheid verantwoordelijke persoon of van die persoon aanwijzingen krijgen voor het gebruik van het apparaat.

■ Bij kinderen is supervisie noodzakelijk om er voor te zorgen dat ze niet met

het apparaat spelen.

■ Laat reparaties aan het apparaat alleen uitvoeren door geautoriseerde

vakkundige bedrijven of door de klantenservice. Ondeskundige reparaties kunnen resulteren in gevaren voor de gebruiker. Bovendien wordt er dan geen garantie meer gegeven.

■ Een reparatie van het apparaat tijdens de garantieperiode mag alleen wor-

den uitgevoerd door een klantenservice die door de fabrikant is geautoriseerd, anders vervalt de garantie bij volgende schadegevallen.

■ Defecte onderdelen mogen alleen worden vervangen door originele reserve-

delen. Alleen bij deze onderdelen is gewaarborgd dat ze voldoen aan de veiligheidseisen.

■ Bescherm het apparaat tegen vocht en het binnendringen van vloeistoﬀ en.

Dompel het apparaat nooit onder water, plaats het niet in de buurt van water en zet geen met water gevulde voorwerpen op het apparaat (bijv. vazen).

■ Zet geen voorwerpen op het apparaat.

■ Gebruik het apparaat niet in de buurt van open vlammen (bijv. kaarsen).

■ Vermijd rechtstreeks zonlicht.

■ Het aansluitsnoer altijd alleen aan de stekker uit het stopcontact halen en

nooit aan het snoer.

■ In geval er storingen optreden en tijdens onweer, de stekker uit het stopcon-

tact halen.

■ Om het apparaat volledig van het net te ontkoppelen, moet u de stekker uit

het stopcontact halen. Zodoende moet het apparaat zo geplaatst worden, dat er altijd ongehinderd toegang tot het stopcontact gewaarborgd is, zodat de stekker in geval van nood onmiddellijk uit het stopcontact gehaald kan worden.

■ Het apparaat beschikt over een "klasse 1 laser". Kijk nooit rechtstreeks in het

geopende CD-vak. De onzichtbare laserstraal kan uw ogen beschadigen.

GEVAAR

Verpakkingsmaterialen mogen niet als speelgoed worden gebruikt.

Er bestaat verstikkingsgevaar.

► Let altijd op de aanwijzingen voor de eisen aan de plaatsingslocatie en

voor de elektrische aansluiting van het apparaat, teneinde persoonlijk letsel en materiële schade te vermijden.

Inhoud van het pakket en inspectie van transport

Standaard wordt het apparaat met volgende componenten geleverd:

OPMERKING

Controleer of de levering compleet is en geen zichtbare schade heeft.

► ► In geval de levering niet compleet is of indien er sprake is van schade

door gebrekkige verpakking of door transport, neemt u contact op met de Service-Hotline (zie hoofdstuk Service).

Uitpakken

♦ Haal het apparaat uit de doos. ♦ Verwijder al het verpakkingsmateriaal.

De verpakking afvoeren

De verpakking beschermt het apparaat tegen transportschade. De verpakkingsmaterialen zijn zo gekozen dat zij onschadelijk zijn voor het milieu en met het oogmerk op de afvalverwerking, dus recyclebaar.

Het terugvoeren van de verpakking in de materiaalkringloop is een besparing op grondstoﬀ en en reduceert het ontstaan van afval. Voer verpakkingsmaterialen die niet meer worden gebruikt af conform de plaatselijke geldende voorschriften.

OPMERKING

Indien mogelijk de originele verpakking bewaren gedurende de garantie-

periode van het apparaat om het apparaat in geval van een garantiekwestie volgens de voorschriften te kunnen verpakken.

Voorwaarden voor de locatie van plaatsing

Voor een veilige en storingsvrije werking van het apparaat moet de plaatsingslocatie aan volgende voorwaarden voldoen:

■ Plaats het apparaat op een stevige, vlakke en horizontale ondergrond.

■ De oppervlakken van meubels bevatten mogelijk stoﬀ en die de rubberen

voetjes kunnen aantasten en week kunnen maken. Leg eventueel een onderlegger onder de stelvoetjes van het apparaat.

■ Zet het apparaat zodanig neer, dat de voorhanden ventilatieopeningen en

de luidsprekers niet afgedekt worden.

■ Gebruik het apparaat niet in een hete, natte of zeer vochtige omgeving, of in

de buurt van brandbaar materiaal.

■ Het stopcontact moet probleemloos te bereiken zijn, zodat het netsnoer in

geval van nood snel uit het stopcontact gehaald kan worden.

Elektrische aansluiting

■ Voordat u het apparaat aansluit, eerst de aansluitgegevens (spanning en

frequentie) op het kenplaatje vergelijken met die van uw lichtnet. Deze gegevens moeten overeenkomen, zodat het apparaat niet beschadigd raakt.

■ Bescherm het netsnoer tegen hete oppervlakken en scherpen kanten.

■ Let erop dat het aansluitsnoer niet strak gespannen of geknikt wordt.

■ Laat het aansluitsnoer niet over hoeken hangen (gevaar voor struikelen).

■ Als u het apparaat langere tijd niet gebruikt, ontkoppel dan de stekker van

de stroomvoorziening.

UKW-draadantenne

♦ De draadantenne 12 voor de UKW-ontvangst helemaal afrollen.

Bediening en gebruik

In dit hoofdstuk krijgt u belangrijke aanwijzingen over de bediening en het bedrijf van het apparaat.

Verlichting in-/uitschakelen

♦ Druk op de toets LIGHT 9 om het looplicht in te schakelen. ♦ Druk opnieuw op de toets LIGHT 9 om het looplicht in te schakelen.

Apparaat in-/uitschakelen, volume instellen

♦ Draai de VOLUME-regelknop 17 met de wijzers van de klok mee om het

apparaat in te schakelen en het volume in te stellen.

♦ Draai de VOLUME-regelknop 17 tegen de wijzers van de klok om het volume

lager te zetten en het apparaat uit te schakelen (positie OFF).

OPMERKING

Met de VOLUME-regelknop 17 wordt het apparaat niet volledig van het

►

lichtnet losgekoppeld. Het apparaat verbruikt ook stroom in de standby-modus. Om het apparaat helemaal te ontkoppelen van het lichtnet moet de stekker uit het stopcontact worden gehaald.

Radiomodus

Dit apparaat ontvangt radiozenders op de frequentiebanden ultrakortegolf (UKW of Engels FM) en middengolf (MW of Engels AM).

Voor een goede radio-ontvangst moet de draadantenne 12 helemaal afgerold

► De technische eigenschappen van het apparaat maken een instelbaar

frequentiebereik mogelijk buiten het toegelaten frequentiebereik van 87,5 - 108 MHz resp. 526,5 - 1606,5 kHz. In verschillende landen kunnen afwijkende landelijke bepalingen bestaan voor de toegewezen radiofrequentiebereiken. Houd er rekening mee dat u buiten het toegewezen radiofrequentiebereik ontvangen informatie niet mag verkopen of doorgeven aan derden of mag gebruiken voor niet-geëigende doeleinden.

♦ Draai de VOLUME-regelknop 17 met de wijzers van de klok mee om het

apparaat in te schakelen en het volume in te stellen.

Het apparaat is uitgerust met een USB-poort en een SD-/MMC-kaartsleuf. U kunt deze interface gebruiken om MP3- en WMA-bestanden af te spelen. Herkend worden USB-geheugenmedia en SD-/MMC-geheugenkaarten met max. 16 GB grootte.

In dit hoofdstuk krijgt u belangrijke aanwijzingen over de lokalisering van storingen en het verhelpen van storingen. Neem de aanwijzingen in acht om de gevaren en beschadigingen te vermijden.

Entsorgung der Verpackung

Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.

Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoﬀ e und verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.

Anforderungen an den Aufstellort

Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes muss der Aufstellort folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllen:

■ Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine feste, ﬂ ache und waagerechte Unterlage.

■ Die Oberﬂ ächen von Möbeln enthalten möglicherweise Bestandteile, die

die Gummifüße des Gerätes angreifen und aufweichen können. Legen Sie gegebenenfalls eine Unterlage unter die Gummifüße des Gerätes.

■ Stellen Sie das Gerät so auf, dass vorhandene Lüftungsöﬀ nungen und die

Lautsprecher nicht verdeckt werden.

■ Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in einer heißen, nassen oder sehr feuchten

Umgebung oder in der Nähe von brennbarem Material.

■ Die Steckdose muss leicht zugänglich sein, so dass der Netzstecker notfalls

leicht abgezogen werden kann.

Elektrischer Anschluss

■ Vergleichen Sie vor dem Anschließen des Gerätes die Anschlussdaten

des Gerätes (Spannung und Frequenz) auf dem Typenschild mit denen Ihres Elektronetzes. Diese Daten müssen übereinstimmen, damit keine Schäden am Gerät auftreten.

■ Schützen Sie das Anschlusskabel vor heißen Oberﬂ ächen und scharfen Kanten.

■ Achten Sie darauf, dass das Anschlusskabel nicht straﬀ gespannt oder

geknickt wird.

■ Lassen Sie das Anschlusskabel nicht über Ecken hängen (Stolperdrahteﬀ ekt).

■ Wenn Sie das Gerät für längere Zeit nicht nutzen, trennen Sie den Netzste-

cker von der Stromversorgung.

♦ Wickeln Sie die Wurfantenne 12 für den UKW-Empfang ganz ab.

Bedienung und Betrieb

In diesem Kapitel erhalten Sie wichtige Hinweise zur Bedienung und Betrieb des Gerätes.

Beleuchtung ein-/ausschalten

♦ Drücken Sie die Taste LIGHT 9, um das Lauﬂ icht einzuschalten. ♦ Drücken Sie die Taste LIGHT 9 erneut, um das Lauﬂ icht auszuschalten.

Gerät ein-/ausschalten, Lautstärke einstellen

♦ Drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler 17 im Uhrzeigersinn, um das Gerät einzu-

schalten und die Lautstärke einzustellen.

♦ Drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler 17 gegen den Uhrzeigersinn, um die Laut-

stärke zu verringern und das Gerät auszuschalten (Position OFF).

HINWEIS

Der VOLUME-Regler 17 trennt das Gerät nicht vollständig vom Stromnetz.

Das Gerät verbraucht auch im Standby-Betrieb Strom. Um das Gerät vollständig vom Stromnetz zu trennen, muss der Netzstecker aus der Steckdose gezogen werden.

Radiobetrieb

Dieses Gerät empfängt Radiosender auf den Frequenzbändern Ultrakurzwelle (UKW oder engl. FM) und Mittelwelle (MW oder engl. AM).

HINWEIS

Für einen guten UKW-Empfang muss die Wurfantenne 12 ganz abgewickelt

werden. Richten Sie die Antenne im Radiobetrieb auf den besten Empfang aus. Für den MW-Empfang besitzt das Gerät eine eingebaute Ferrit-Antenne. Um den MW-Empfang zu verbessern, drehen Sie das Gerät in eine günstigere Ausrichtung.

► Die technischen Gegebenheiten des Gerätes ermöglichen einen einstellba-

ren Frequenzbereich außerhalb des zulässigen Frequenzbereichs von 87,5 - 108 MHz bzw. 526,5 - 1606,5 kHz. In verschiedenen Ländern können abweichende nationale Regelungen zu den zugewiesenen Rundfunkfrequenzbereichen bestehen. Beachten Sie, dass Sie die außerhalb des zugewiesenen Rundfunkfrequenzbereiches empfangenen Informationen nicht verwerten, an Dritte weiterleiten oder zweckentfremdet missbräuchlich verwenden dürfen.

♦ Drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler 17 im Uhrzeigersinn, um das Gerät einzu-

schalten und die Lautstärke einzustellen.

♦ Klappen Sie die Bedienelementklappe 18 auf. ♦ Stellen Sie den Schalter CD/AM/FM auf "FM" für UKW-Empfang bzw.

schalten und die Lautstärke einzustellen.

Das Gerät ist mit einem USB-Steckplatz und einem SD-/MMC-Kartenfach ausgestattet. Sie können diese Schnittstellen nutzen, um MP3- und WMA-Dateien abzuspielen. Es werden USB-Speichermedien und SD-/MMC-Speicherkarten mit einer Größe von bis zu 16 GB erkannt.

tions are a part of this product. They contain important information in regard to safety, use and disposal. In this chapter you will receive important safety information regarding the handling of the appliance.

This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage.

Risks from electric current

DANGER

Risks from potentially fatal electrical current! Contact with wires or components that are under voltage could

be potentially fatal!

Comply with the following safety information in order to avoid the risk of electric shock:

► Do not use the appliance if the power cable or the plug is damaged. ► NEVER open the housing. There is a risk of receiving an electric shock

by touching voltage carrying connections and modifying the electrical/ mechanical construction.

Basic Safety Instructions

For safe handling of the appliance, pay heed to the following safety information:

■ Before use, check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not operate

a damaged appliance or one that has been dropped.

■ Should the cable or connections be damaged, arrange to have them exchanged

by an authorised specialist or the Customer Service Department.

■ This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children)

with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deﬁ ciences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.

■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

■ Repairs are only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the

Customer Service Department. Incompetent repairs may result in risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.

■ A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried

out by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.

■ Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts.

Only by using original replacement parts can it be assured that the safety requirements are being complied with.

■ Protect the appliance from moisture and liquid penetration. NEVER immerse

the appliance in water, NEVER place the appliance in the close vicinity of water and DO NOT place any objects ﬁ lled with liquids (e.g. ﬂ ower vases) on the appliance.

■ Do not place any objects on the appliance.

■ Do not operate or place the appliance close to open ﬂ ames (e.g. candles).

■ Avoid direct solar radiation.

■ Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket by pulling the plug,

not the cable.

■ In the event of malfunctions, and during thunderstorms, disconnect the plug

from the mains power socket.

■ To completely disconnect the appliance from mains power, the plug MUST

be disconnected from the mains power socket. The appliance should therefore be positioned so that you have unrestricted access to the mains power socket at all times, enabling the plug to be immediately disconnected should an emergency situation arise.

■ This appliance is ﬁ tted with a "Class 1 Laser". Never look directly into an

opened CD compartment. The invisible laser beam can damage your eyes.

through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).

Unpacking

♦ Remove the appliance from the carton. ♦ Remove all packing material.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.

NOTICE

If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty

period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can repackage the appliance ideally for its return.

Requirements for the setup location

For safe and trouble free operation of the appliance the setup location must fulﬁ ll the following provisions:

■ Place the appliance on a ﬁ rm, ﬂ at and level surface.

■ The surface areas of furniture may possibly contain components that could

aﬀ ect the appliance's rubber pads and soften them. If necessary place a cover under the appliance's pads.

■ Place the appliance so that the extant ventilation openings and the speakers

are not covered.

■ Do not place the appliance in a hot, wet or very damp environment or in the

vicinity of ﬂ ammable materials.

■ The mains power socket must be easily accessible so that the power cable

can be easily disconnected in an emergency.

Electrical connection

■ Before connecting the appliance compare the connection data (voltage and

frequency) on the rating plate with that of your electric supply. This data must agree in order to avoid damaging the appliance.

■ Protect the connection cable from hot surfaces and sharp edges.

■ Ensure that the power cable is not over taut or kinked.

■ Do not allow the cable to dangle over edges (trip wire eﬀ ect).

■ If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long period, disconnect the

plug from the mains power supply.

VHF - Wire aerial

♦ Completely unwind the wire anntena 12 for VHF radio reception.

Handling and operation

In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the appliance.

Switching the illumination on and oﬀ

♦ Press the button LIGHT 9 to switch the running light on. ♦ Press the button LIGHT 9 once again to switch the running light oﬀ .

Switching the appliance on and oﬀ , adjusting the sound volume

♦ Turn the VOLUME regulator 17 clockwise to switch the appliance on and to

adjust the sound volume.

♦ Turn the VOLUME regulator 17 anti-clockwise to reduce the sound volume

and to switch the appliance oﬀ (Position OFF).

NOTICE

► The VOLUME regulator 17 does not completely disconnect the appliance

from the mains power supply. The appliance also consumes power when in standby-mode. To completely separate the appliance from the power supply, the plug must be disconnected from the mains power socket.

Radio operation

This appliance receives radio stations on the frequency bands, Very High Frequency (VHF or FM) and Medium wave (MW or AM).

NOTICE

For good radio reception the wire antenna 12 must be completely unwound.

►

Align the aerial in radio mode for the best reception. The appliance has a builtin ferrite aerial for the reception of MW transmitters. To improve AM reception, rotate the appliance into a more favorable orientation.

► The technical realities of the appliance permit a setable frequency range

outside of the permissible 87.5 - 108 MHz resp. 526,5 - 1606,5 kHz. In some countries, diﬀ erent national regulations may apply to the assigned radio frequency ranges. Please note that information received outside of the assigned radio frequency ranges may not be exploited, passed on to third parties or otherwise misused.

♦ Turn the VOLUME regulator 17 clockwise to switch the appliance on and

to adjust the sound volume.

♦ Flip up the operating element ﬂ ap 18. ♦ Place the switch CD/AM/FM at "FM" for FM reception resp. at "AM"

for MW reception.

♦ Use the TUNING-regulator 3 to select the desired radio station. ♦ Switch the radio oﬀ by turning the VOLUME-regulator 17 anti-clockwise until

a click is heard (Position OFF).

Basic operation (for CD/MP3 playback)

♦ Turn the VOLUME regulator 17 clockwise to switch the appliance on and to

adjust the sound volume.

♦ Flip up the operating element ﬂ ap 18. ♦ Place the switch CD/AM/FM at "CD". ♦ Press the CD tray 13 on the spot marked "PUSH TO OPEN" to open the

Playback from USB memory devices/ SD/ MMC memory cards

This appliance is equipped with a USB port and an SD-/MMC card slot. You can use these interfaces to play MP3 and WMA data. USB storage devices and SD-/MMC- memory cards with a size of up to 16 GB are recognised.

♦ Flip up the operating element ﬂ ap 18. ♦ Connect the USB storage device to the USB port 4 resp. insert a memory

card with the label facing up into the card slot 7.

♦ Turn the VOLUME regulator 17 clockwise to switch the appliance on and to

adjust the sound volume.

♦ Place the switch CD/AM/FM at "CD". ♦ Press and hold the button CD/USB/SD 16 until the indicator resp.

The appliance now reads the respective medium. Subsequently, in the display appears the number of extant ﬁ les (for example ) and the number of titles they contain. ■ Clean the surfaces of the appliance with a soft, dry cloth.

■ Clean the CD laser at regular intervals. For this, use a commercially avail-

able cleaning CD.

The USB port 4 is intended for appliances that function according to the USB standard. Not all market available appliances conform to this standard. It is possible that an appliance is connected that does not function according to the USB standard.

Check the house fuse.

Increase the sound volume with the VOLUME regulator

Start playback with the button PLAY/PAUSE

Use the TUNING-regulator 3 to ﬁ ne tune the desired radio station.

Connect a appliance that functions according to the USB standard. Check that the data carrier is formatted for the data system FAT32.

Storage/Disposal

Storage

Should you decide not to use the appliance for a long period, disconnect it from the mains power supply and store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Disposal of the appliance

Do not, under any circumstances, dispose of the appliance with

household refuse. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your com-

munity waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
