Why Use the 1786-BNC2TNC Coax Adapter

Use the BNC2TNC Coax adapter to connect a BNC coax cable segment to a TNC coax cable segment. With the adapter you can:
isolate a segment
install the adapter in a cabinet
install the adapter in a wall

Select a Location to Install the Adapter

Use these guidelines to select where to install the adapter.
There is no minimum or maximum space requirements between conversion
adapters.
Be certain that the install location is convenient to route your cable.
Inside enclosures that provide appropriate environmental isolation.
IMPORTANT
Do not install the adapter in a position that routes the dropline cable over
any ac power terminals on nearby modules.
ControlNet is an isolated system, connectors and the shield must not come in direct contact with me tal enclosure or other ground equipment. This BNC2TNC provides an isolation from ground when properly installed.
Do not allow any metal portions of the tap, such as the universal mounting bracket screws or connectors to contact any conductive material. This contact could cause noise on the network.

Install the Connector

You can mount your ControlNet Coax BNC2TNC Adapter:
to a cabinet mount
through a wall
1. Determine the side for the BNC and TNC connections.
2. Center the connector in the drilled or punched hole.
3. With the hardware provided with the adapter, attach the adapter to the flat
surface.

Use only the hardware that we provide with the connector. They are the proper design and if you use other hardware it can diminish the integrity of your connection.

Do not over tighten the hardware. You can damage the adapter if you over tighten the hardware. Apply the torque at
0.2-0.4 N-m (1-2 ft.-lbs). Only use the hardware that we provide with the BNC2TNC connector. If you substitute hardware, we cannot guarantee the integrity of your network.
