1609-SDC1 Dry Contact Communication Cable
Installation Guide

The 1609-SDC1 is a DB-9 to dry contact communication cable. This cable is designed to provide UPS status (UPS
on battery and UPS low battery only) to a PLC. The cable is not intended for any other application, and use of the
cable for unsupported applications could result in erratic UPS behavior. The DB-9 connector must be attached to
the 1609-S serial port. The second end provides the signal wires for direct connection to a PLC I/O module.

Pin Definitions
OBAT (Brown) - On Battery Signal. Contact closes when UPS goes to battery power.
GND (Red) - Common, to be used with OBAT signal.
LBAT (Orange) - Low Battery Signal. Contact closes when UPS has low battery condition.
GND (Black) - Common, to be used with LBAT signal.
Shell (No insulation) - No connection required. Can be used to ground cable common to PLC common.
