Getting started

Installing your Highway

Before you can start using your Highway, you need to dothe following:
1. Positionthe antenna inyour vehicle.
2. Connect the antenna to your vehicle's audiosystem, either with an auxiliary cable or by FM radio.
3. Install the wirelesscontroller.
4. Switch your Highway on for the first time. To watch a videoshowing howto installyour Highway, search for 'Highway installation' on YouTube.
Vehicle requirements
l Fittedaudio system with auxiliary (3.5mm) port or FM receiver. l Standard 12V negative earth power supply.Your Highway is not suitablefor use with a 24V power supply.
Gettingthe best DABsignal
As with FMradio, DAB signal coverage changes depending on your location.As you usethe Highway in your vehicle,you may travel through areas where DAB signal coverage is poor. To helpget the bestDAB signal when coverage is poor or there is a weaksignal:
l Follow theinstallation instructions carefully. l Ensure the magneticgrounding tail is attached to theantenna. l Usethe supplied12V power adapter, as other third-party adapters can cause interference. l Switch off other devices in your vehicle that aren't in use. Devices such as satellitenavigation systems and dashboard cameras
can cause interference.

Where to install your Highway

It's important to install your Highway in a safe location in your vehicle. Do not fit any components in locations that may interfere with safe operation of the vehicle,or affect the deployment ofair bags or other safety products. Keep cables and wires away fr om the steering wheel.
Where to install the antenna
We recommend you install the antenna for your Highway in the top corner ofthe windscreen, on the passenger's side of your vehicle.
Install the a ntenna so that it is not within the swept area of the windscreen. Make sure the antenna and wireless controller do not obstruct the view of the driver.
If you have a heated windscreen in your vehicle,or the windscreen contains m etallic UVfilters, it can cause interference for the DAB signal.Install the a ntenna on a part of the windscreen that does not contain heating elements or UV filters.

Positioning the antenna
1. Choose a position for the antenna , so that it's as high as possible on the windscreen and at least 4cm from the side of the screen.
Make sure the antenna does not obstruct the view of the driver.
2. Gently pull down the fr ont of the roof liner in your vehicle, until there is a small gap.
3. Push the ma gnetic grounding tail through the gap, with the silver-coloured ma gnet facing upwards. Make sur e the magnet touches your vehicle's metal bodywork.
4. Clean the chosen area of the windscreen with a cleaning cloth and wait for it to dry.
5. Unpeel the backing from the antenna and stick the antenna onto your windscreen.
6. Inser t the DAB film aerial into the slot in the antenna .
7. Gently unpeel the backing from the DAB film aerial and stick the aerial onto your windscreen. Take care not to fold or twist the a erial.

Connecting the antenna

1. Place theantenna cable so that it follows a path toyour vehicle'spower socket.
2. If possible,tuckthe cable behind the trim down theside of your windscreen. Alternatively, secure the cable toyour windscreen and dashboard with self-adhesive clips.
3. Gentlypullthe auxiliary cable from theUSBpower cable to separate them.
4. Insert the USB power cableinto the supplied 12V power adapter, then insert the power adapter intoyour vehicle'spower socket.
5. If you're connectingyour Highway with an auxiliary cable,insert thecable into your vehicle's auxiliary socket.If you're connectingyour Highway by FM radio,you can store the auxiliary cable so it's outof the way.
We recommend you connect your Highway with an auxiliary cable to getthe best audio quality.

Installing the wireless controller

1. Slidethe backcover off ofthe wirelesscontroller and insert the batteries, then replace thecover.
2. Choose an area on your vehicle's dashboard where youwant to install the wireless controller.Clean the surfacewith a cleaning cloth and waitfor itto dry.
Make sure thewireless controller does not obstruct the view of the driver.
3. Peel off the backingfrom the wireless controller bracket and gentlystickit ontoyour dashboard.Gently press the bracketto ensure it's attached securely.
4. Slidethe wirelesscontroller onto the bracket,untilit clicks into place.

Switching your Highway on for the firsttime

After you've installedyour Highway,switch it on tofinishsetting it up.
1. Turn on your vehicle’signition to make sure theantenna is switchedon. After a few seconds,the wirelesscontroller automatically connectsto theantenna.If not,see page19.
2. Turn the Selectdialto change the display language, then press the Selectdialto choose it.
3. Turn and press the Select dial to choose how to connect your Highway to your vehicle.
If you've connected your Highway withan auxiliary cable,choose ‘LINEOUT’.
If you're connectingyour Highway by FM radio,choose ‘FMTRANSMIT' and then choosean FM frequency.Ensure a radio
station isn't using the frequencyyou choose.
Tune your vehicle’s audiosystem tothe same FM frequencyyour Highway. To easily find theFM frequency in the future, save it as a preset on your vehicle’s audiosystem.
After you’ve chosen how to connect your Highway, it starts tuning to digitalradiostations.When theautotune iscomplete,you can start listening to digitalradio.

Switching your Highway on and off

To switch onyour Highway, press.
To put your Highway in standbyand use less power, press and hold.
Note: By default,the antenna automatically enters standby after 4hours, and the screen onthe wirelesscontroller dims after
15seconds.Read more aboutthe display brightness on page17.

You can save up to 20 of your favourite digital radiostations in the presets list.
Storing a radiostationas a preset
1.
When listeningto a radio station, press and hold.
2. Turn the Selectdialto choose a preset number. You can overwriteprevious radiostations.

Press and holdto save the current radio station to the preset number.
Listening to apreset
1.
When listeningto digital radio,press and hold.
2. Turn and press theSelectdialto choose the preset you want to listen to. To skip to the previous or next preset, pressor.

Aboutthe Pure Go app

To get the most out of your Highway, download the Pure Go app on your mobile device.The Pure Go appprovides the following features:
Play.Access allof your songs and playlistson your music streaming service.If you use Spotify,a premium subscription is required.
Identify.If you hear a song you like on a radio station, press and hold to identifythe songusing the microphone on your mobile device.The songis then added to a Pure Go playlist on your musicstreaming service.
Personalassistant.Pressand hold to connectto your mobile device'spersonal assistant.
Update.The Pure Go app notifies you when a new software update is available and allows you toupdate your Highway.
Read more about updating thesoftware on page18.
To pair your Highway with the Pure Go app,installthe app on your mobile device and then followthe setupinstructions in theapp.

Pairingyour Highway witha mobile device

You can use Bluetooth to wirelessly connect to a mobile device.You can then stream music from your mobiledevice.
1. Switch on Bluetooth on your mobiledevice.
2.
Presson thewireless controller for your Highway.
3. Turn and press the Select dial to choose 'SETTINGS' > 'BLUETOOTH' > 'PAIR' > 'BTMUSIC'.
4. On your mobile device,choose your Highway from the list of Bluetooth devicesand connectto it.
After you've paired a mobile device with your Highway, your Highway automaticallyconnectsto it when it'snearby.
To forget a paired mobile device on your Highway,press. Then choose 'SETTINGS'> 'BLUETOOTH' >'FORGET'.To forget a paired Pure Go app,remove Pure Go from thelistof paired deviceson your mobile device.

Listening toaudio storedon yourmobile device

If youconnect your Highway toa mobiledevice using Bluetooth,you can play musicthat isstored on your mobiledevice.

Listening toaudio from a music streaming service

If youuse the Pure Go app to connectto your Highway, you can listen to audiofrom a music streaming service.

Changing between auxiliary connection and FM transmission

You can choose how your Highway isconnectedto your vehicle'saudio system.

2. Turn and press theSelectdialto choose 'SETTINGS' > 'AUDIOOUT'.
3. Turn and press the Select dial to choose how to connect your Highway to your vehicle.
If you've connected your Highway withan auxiliary cable,choose ‘LINEOUT’.Then turn and press the Select dial to choose a gain setting of 'LOW' or 'NORMAL'. If the audio sounds distorted,choose'LOW'.
If you're connectingyour Highway over FM radio,choose ‘FMTRANSMIT' and then choose an FM frequency.Ensure a radio station isn't using the frequencyyou choose.

Setting your Highwayto enter standby automatically

By default, your Highway enters standby after 4hours, but you can change the delay.

3. Turn and press the Select dialto choose a delay between 1 and 8 hours.

Radio settings

Performing an autotune
If youcan't find any digitalradiostations,try retuning your Highway.
l To perform an autotune,press and hold the Select dial when you are indigital radio mode.
Listening to alternative stations when the signal is weak
If the current radio station has a weak signal, your Highway automaticallytries to finda stronger signal.If your Highway can't finda stronger signal for the current radio station, itcan automatically tune to a similar radio station when supported by thebroadcaster.

Changing the information displayed on the screen
Your Highway can display the name of the radio station you are listening to,or the quality and signal strength of the station.

Changing the screen brightness
A light sensor on the wireless controller automaticallysets the screen brightness,but you can manuallychange it.

3. Turn and press the Select dialto choose a brightness level. By default, the screen on thewireless controller automatically dims after 15seconds. To change the lengthof time before the
screen dims, choose 'SETTINGS' >'DISPLAY' >'TIMEOUT'.

Updating the software

We may provide software updates toimprove your Highway. If you have the Pure Go app,itnotifiesyou when a software update is available.You can then use the Pure Go app to update the software on your Highway.

Features of the Pure Go app may vary depending on the mobile device and app version.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possiblecause Solution

If this doesn't solve the problem, pair thecontrollerwith the antenna:
1. Use a paperclip to press the reset button on the antenna.Thestatus light on the antenna

If the controller does not connect to the antenna within 30seconds, repeat steps1 and2. If you areupdating the software, finishthe update. If not, remove thepoweradapter from the
12Vsocket, then insert it. If theantenna haspower, the status light on the antenna lights up for 5 seconds and thecontrollerconnects tothe antennawithin 30seconds. Note: If you can't access the power adapter, perform a power reset*.
To pair thecontrollerwith the antenna:
1. Use a paperclip to press the reset button on the antenna.Thestatus light on the antenna
