Charging the trimmer
Turn the trimmer off. Wipe off any water droplets on the appliance socket.
1. Place the trimmer on the AC adaptor.
2. Plug in the AC adaptor into a household outlet.
Check that the charge indicator lamp glows. Charging is completed after approx. 15 hours.
3. Disconnect the AC adaptor after
charging is completed.
The charge indicator lamp continues to
glow after charging is complete. There is no indication to show that
charging is complete”.
Charging the battery for more than 15 hours
will not affect battery performance.
Note
You cannot operate the trimmer while charging.
When charging the trimmer for the rst time or when it has not
been in use for more than 6 months, the charge indicator lamp may not glow for a few minutes, or the operating time may shorten. Please charge it for more than 23 hours in such cases.
Recommended ambient temperature for charging is
0 °C - 35 °C (32 °F - 95 °F). Battery performance may decrease outside of the recommended temperature.
A full charge supplies enough power for approximately
30 minutes of use.
You can charge the battery before it is completely
discharged. However, it is recommended to charge when the battery is completely discharged. The battery life depends strongly on factors such as how it is used and stored.
If there is crackling noise on radios or other devices while
charging, charge the clipper using a different household outlet.

When trimming a short beard, it is effective to increase the
number of trimming times in order to keep the beard uniform at the desirable length.
It can also be used without the comb attachment.
(Trimming height: approx. 0.5 mm (1/64˝ ))
Actual hair length will be a little longer than the height you set.
Using the trimmer
Make sure there is no damage to the blade. The appliance may not operate in an ambient temperature
lower than approximately 0 °C (32 °F).
Dry trimming
Trimming with the comb attachment
Do not use when the beard is wet.
A wet beard may stick to the skin or bunch up, making it
difcult to trim.
1. Mount the comb attachment and adjust the dial. (See this page.)
2. Slide the power switch to the “
position to turn on the trimmer.
3. Hold the trimmer with the power
switch facing upward, and cut the beard by moving the trimmer back against the ow of the beard.
Hair trimmings may collect inside the
attachment when a large volume of beard is cut, so discard hair trimmings after each use.

Trimming without the comb attachment
Shaping your moustache
Above the lips
Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin with the power switch facing downward and trim around your moustache.
To round out the shape, trim around your moustache by holding the main body sideways.
Trimming the edge of beard
Cut your beard gradually with the power
switch facing outward, taking care not to cut too much.
Shaping your sideburns
Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin and cut your sideburns.
Shaping the hair around your ears
Trim the hair around your ears by holding the main body sideways.
To maintain sharpness, remove the hair
trimmings between trimmings.
It is recommended to ask someone
else to trim around your own ears and neckline.
Cutting your vellus hair
Cut your beard slowly from the bottom up.
Trimming your beard or moustache without an attachment
will trim hair length to approx. 0.5 mm (1/64˝ ).
Wet trimming
Trimming without the comb attachment
Cut your beard or vellus hair while applying water, facial
cleanser, or shaving cream on your face.
Wet trimming will decrease the friction, allowing a smooth
touch.
Wet trimming is recommended to trim a fuller beard to a
length of 0.5 mm (1/64˝ ) without an attachment.

cleanser or shaving cream. (See page 13.)
Make sure to rinse the main body with water and apply the
oil to the blades after wet trimming.
Cleaning the trimmer
Please clean after every use.

Make sure that the trimmer is
turned off.
2. Remove the comb attachment.
3. Hold the main body, place your thumb against the blades and then push them away from the main body.

Troubleshooting
Problem Action
The trimmer has become blunt.
Charge the trimmer. (See page 9.) Clean the blade and apply oil.
(See pages 12 and 13.) Replace the blade. (See page 13.)
Trimmer stopped functioning.
Operating time is short even after charging.
Charge the battery for approximately 23 hours continuously to rejuvenate it. If few uses remain even after charging, the battery has reached the end of its life. (Fluid may be leaking due to degradation at the end of battery life.)
The trimmer cannot be charged.
Push the main body into the AC adaptor all the way and make sure the charge status lamp glows.
Charge within the recommended charging temperature of 0 °C (32 °F) to 35 °C (95 °F).
Trimmer can be used for only about 10 minutes even after charging.
Contact an authorized service center for repair.
Makes a loud sound.
Conrm that the blade is properly
attached.
If the problems still cannot be solved, contact the store where you purchased the unit or a service center authorised by Panasonic for repair.

Remove the built-in rechargeable battery before disposing the
trimmer.
Please make sure that the battery is disposed of at an ofcially
designated location if there is one.
This gure must only be used when disposing the trimmer, and
must not be used to repair it. If you dismantle the trimmer yourself, it will no longer be waterproof, which may cause it to malfunction.
Remove the trimmer from the AC adaptor when removing the
battery.
Slide the power switch to turn on the power and then keep the
power on until the battery is completely discharged. Perform steps 1 to 8 and lift the battery, and then remove it. Please take care not to short-circuit the battery. Take care not to short circuit the positive and negative
terminals of the removed battery, and insulate the terminals
by applying tape to them.
