NSE-8
VIBRA MOTOR FOR NSE-8
NSE-8 phones have no vibra motor (vibrator) installed when sold, but now it is possible for customer to get it with extra fee. This possibility to install vibrator later concerns only NSE-8 phone models!
Note 1: In the future before updating the software in any NSE-8 phones, the phone should be examined, if a vibrator has been previously installed or not (please ref section 3. Updating the software in a NSE-8 phone where a vibrator has previously been installed)
Note 2: When ordering the vibra motor as a spare part only the following code should be used.

The part includes a motor with spring contacts, a counterweight mounted on the motor axle and a vibra-boot with a mounting hole. All joined together as one whole unit .

1) Installing the vibrator and configure the phone software to enable the vibrator.
Mechanical installation
Remove A- and B-cover and battery.
Remove SIM card.
Remove antenna.
Unscrew D-cover (metal cover),
remove it and lay it as shown in the picture.
Place the Vibrator as shown with the spring contacts up, counterweight to the left and the mounting hole in the green vibra­boot on the tap in the D-cover. (see picture)
Press the vibrator gently down to mount it in the D-cover. When done, turn D-cover and verify that the vibrator is stuck in the D­cover.
Gently put the D-cover on top of the PCB and screw the parts together. Screw torque should be 30 Ncm.
Mount the antenna and the A­cover.
Software settings The following procedure will enable the Vibrating alert menu.
In WinTesla, enter the Product Profile window from the Software menu.
Change the Vibrator setting from Not in Menu to In menu.
Click Save
Press F5 to reset the phone
and thus reload the saved Product Profile

The vibrator is now installed and the Vibrating alert menu is enabled. This can be verified by entering the Vibrating alert menu (menu 9-8) and confirming that the setting is On. (see picture)
To verify that the vibrator is functioning, enter the Ringing tone menu (Menu 9-2) and browse to another ringing tone. When the ringing tone is played, the phone should vibrate as well.
2) Updating the software to NSE-8 phone without vibrator.
Preliminary examination
Before updating a NSE-8 with a new software, it should be examined to find out, if the phone has a vibrator installed. By looking into the small gap in the D­cover, it is possible to see if a vibrator is present.
If NO vibrator is present, a small part of the PCB is seen, especially the two contact points where the vibrator make electrical contact.

In this case software updating can be done as usually without any consideration to the vibrator software settings.

Motor
It can be difficult to see the vibrator, but it should be possible to see the end of the motor which is black, and part of the green vibra-boot.
If a vibrator is present, the software should be updated as described in the next section 3 "Updating the
software in an NSE-8 phone where a vibrator has previously been installed."
3) Updating the software in an NSE-8 phone where a vibrator has previously been installed.
Vibra-boot
Special care must be taken when updating the software to a phone where the vibrator has previously been installed. If these instructions are not followed, there is a risk that the vibrator menu will be disabled after software update.
In WinTesla, enter the Flash window from the Dealer menu.
Select the right software version and market area and click Flash.
You are then asked, if you want to save the user settings. Click Yes.
You are then asked, where you want to save the temporary file containing the user settings. Just click OK.

When flashing is completed the Vibrating alert menu is still enabled. This can be verified by entering the Vibration alert menu (menu 9-8) and confirming that the setting is On.
To verify that the vibrator is functioning, enter the Ringing tone menu (Menu 9-2) and browse to another ringing tone. When the ringing tone is played, the phone should vibrate as well
Manual setting
If the User Settings were not saved before flashing, there will be a prompt for restoring the default User Settings. Click OK to this prompt (do NOT click Cancel). This will disable the Vibrating alert menu, which means that the Vibrating alert menu must be enabled again.
