This switch and magnet set can be fastened using #4 round head wood screws or pan head sheet metal screws. The switch and magnet housings feature a break away flange that can be removed if desired for tape mounting only. The installation instructions refer to the more common mounting method using the supplied 3M VHB tape.
•Pre-fit the switch and magnet in the desired location on the window. When mounting, be sure to allow enough clearance between the switch and magnet for the snap on covers.
•Clean the mounting surface area for both switch and magnet with alcohol and let dry.
•Remove the liner from the tape on the back of the switch and carefully position the switch on the window frame as close as possible to the movable part of the window.
•Remove the liner from the tape on the back of the magnet and carefully align the magnet parallel with the switch on the movable part of the window.
•Apply firm pressure to the switch and magnet housing to ensure proper adhesion to the mounting surface.
•Test alarm system for correct operation.
•Snap the covers on the switch and magnet.
