USE
In order to remove manufacturing residues you should first - as described in the following - fill the appliance with water up to the maximum filling level, boil the water and pour it away.
` Open the lid by pushing on the bulg and fill in the re-
quired amount of water. Do not fill in less than 0.6 liters and no more than 1.7 liters (MAX). Close the lid.
` Plug the main plug in a socket with earthing contact. ` Place the jug kettle on the base. ` Press the ON switch. The indicator lamp indicates
the operation.
` When the water is boiling the appliance turns auto-
matically off shortly after and the indicator lamp goes off.
` Wait a moment until the water stops boiling. Take
the jug kettle from the base. Pour the water slowly to avoid splashing.
` Do not open the lid when pouring. A strainer insert
in the spout retains larger calcified pieces.Do not reheat stale water. Pour it away.

CLEANING AND MAINTANACE
` Pull the main plug from the socket.Base and connec-
tion cable must not come in contact with moisture.
` Clean them only with a dry cloth. The outside of the
kettle can be wiped off with a moist cloth.
` In order to clean the strainer insert, pull the strainer
upwards on the handle.
` Rinse it under running, warm water. ` Insert the strainer by placing it on the appliance and
push it down with the handle until it clicks noticeably into place.
` Descale the kettle regularly, especially when calcifi-
cation of the heating element is visible, in order to
save energy and to ensure operational reliability. Out of consideration for the environment we recommend descaling with a mixture of vinegar or citric acid
with water in a 1:5 ratio, let it sit in the jug kettle for about one hour and then boil it. Afterwards rinse the jug kettle thoroughly with clean water.
