The Hobart Information Tracker is a perishable
management solution that can run on existing
equipment in the store. This application records
various pricing and inventory data and helps
reduce shrink. You can use the H.I.T. to track:
■ Markdowns
■ Shrink (discards)
■ Inventory
■ Conversions, Transfers and Re-Wraps
■ Promotions
H.I.T. works with Telxon and Symbol systems and
data can be uploaded to either Windows or UNIX
in-store computers. Data upload options:
■ Wireless
■ Wired serial link
The information collected is stored in easy to interpret spreadsheet-ready data files as follows:
■ Each upload creates a separate file.
■ Each mode (markdown, inventory, etc. . . .) is
contained in a separate file.
■ The store name, date and time are included as
the file name.

■ PTC-960DS or PTC960SL
■ MS-DOS Version 5.0
■ 200-220K free RAM disk space for program and
data file storage (should accommodate 1,000
records)
■ TCP/IP RLAN network for wireless TCP/IP
support
■ Dedicated RS-232 port for serial support
SYMBOL REQUIREMENTS:
■ PDT3540, PDT6840, PDT3140 or PDT6140
■ MS-DOS Version 5.0
■ 200-220K free RAM disk space for program and
data file storage (should accommodate 1,000
records)
■ 2.4Ghz 802.11 Spectrum 24 network for wireless
TCP/IP support
■ Dedicated RS-232 port for serial support

■ DB-15 to RJ45 connector for the PTC-960SL
