KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM

The Keyless Access System enables operation of the doors, ignition and hatch/trunk without removing the transmitter from a pocket or purse. The system will recognize the transmitter when it is within 3 feet of the vehicle.

Entering the Vehicle

• With the transmitter within range of the vehicle, press the pad (A) at the rear edge of each door to unlock and open the door.

Leaving the Vehicle

• Press the button at the top of the pull

handle to open the door.

Opening the Hatch/Trunk

• With the transmitter within range of the vehicle, press the release button (B) next to the lock cylinder (C) above the license plate.

• From inside the vehicle, press the Release button on the left side of

the instrument panel.

KEYLESS ACCESS TRANSMITTER

A

Master Key

Use the master key to lock/unlock the glove box and open the hatch/trunk if vehicle power is lost.

To remove the master key, press the small button (A) near the bottom of the transmitter and pull out the key.

Lock

Press to lock all doors.

Unlock

Press to unlock the driver’s door only or all doors.

The unlock setting can be changed in the Vehicle Personalization menu by using the Driver Information Center controls.

Hatch/Trunk Release

Press and hold to unlatch the hatch/trunk.

Panic Alarm

Press to activate the alarm. The turn signal lamps flash and the horn sounds until the button is pressed again.

LOSS OF POWER

If vehicle power is lost, the driver’s door can be opened manually.

Outside the Vehicle

1. Insert the master key into the lock cylinder above the license plate and turn it to open the hatch/trunk.

2. Pull the Door Release handle on the driver’s side of the hatch/trunk.

Inside the Vehicle

• Pull the Door Release handle on the floor next to the seat.

STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE

The Keyless Access transmitter must be in the vehicle to turn on the ignition.

Start the Engine

• Press the brake pedal (automatic transmission) or the clutch pedal (manual transmission) and then press the

Start button (top part of the button).

Stop the Engine

• Shift to Park (automatic transmission only).

• Press and hold the Off button (bottom part of the button).

Weak Transmitter Battery

To start the engine with a weak transmitter battery:

• Insert the transmitter into the pocket on the left side of the glove box with the transmitter buttons facing toward the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
