Owner's Manual
Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of BOSS FV-50L Volume Pedal.
To ensure proper operation, and years of trouble-free service, please take the time to read through this Owner's Manual before starting out.
FEATURES
The BOSS FV-50L is light and compact stereo foot volume of low input impedance, therefore can be effectively used for a low impedance unit such as a keyboard or an effect. The Minimum Volume allows you to set the lowest volume at any level you like, thereby freely set the minimum effect of the pedal depending on the type of performance you are aiming at. Also, it features the Tuner Out Jack for quick and easy tuning during live performance.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Do not subject the unit to temperature extremes (eg., direct sunlight in an enclosed vehicle). Avoid using or storing the unit in dusty or humid areas, or areas that are subject to high levels of vibration.
For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a mild, nonabrasive detergent. Afterwards, be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.
Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation.
Protect the unit from strong impact.
Do not allow objects or liquids of any kind to penetrate the unit. In the event of such an occurrence, discontinue use immediately. Contact qualified service personnel as soon as possible.
Should a malfunction occur, or if you suspect there is a problem, discontinue use immediately. Contact qualified service personnel as soon as possible.
CONNECTIONS
*Please do not connect a guitar directly to the FV-50L, but use and effect unit between the guitar and the FV-50L. If you wish to connect a guitar directly to a foot volume, use the FV-50H (foot volume for high input impedance).

OPERATION
1.Set up the FV-50L with a keyboard or a guitar and an amplifier as shown in "CONNECTIONS".
2.Press the pedal down as far as it goes, and set the maximum volume using the volume knobs of the guitar and the amplifier.
3.Return the position of the pedal to its highest position, and set the minimum volume by using the Minimum Volume Knob on the FV50L. (The Minimum Volume Knob does not affect the maximum volume.)
4.Now, you can control the volume by using the pedal within the range between the maximum and the minimum volume you have set.
HOW TO USE THE TUNER OUT JACK
Connect the output of the guitar to the Input Jack 1 on the FV-50L, then connect the Tuner Out to the input jack on the tuner. (The signal of the Input 2 is not sent out from the Tuner Out.) Then return the pedal to its highest position, and tune the instruments. In this way, there is no sound coming from the amplifier. (Be sure to set the Minimum volume to zero.)
