The D8223 P Prox Pro PIN Reader provides Wiegand protocol interface capability in an attractive, easily mounted, and weather resistant enclosure. Enter a personal identification number (PIN) at the keypad to obtain access.

Note The D8223 P works exclusively with the ReadykeyPRO system, and takes advantage of the ReadykeyPRO card or PIN features.

System Overview

The keypad interfaces with the ReadykeyPRO system by sending keypad data over the data output lines, or from a direct connection to the keypad interface.

Functions

Easy Mounting

The D8223 P Prox Pro PIN Reader is designed to fit a vertically mounted, US standard, single gang switch box for easy installation. It is field adjustable through a selectable jumper setting. Mount the reader directly to metal with minimal effect on the read range performance.

Beeper and LED Configurations can be Host and Locally Controlled

When a proximity card is presented to the reader, the red LED flashes green and the beeper sounds. Both the beeper and LED configurations can be controlled individually by the host system.

Indoor and Outdoor Design

The rugged, weatherproof polycarbonate enclosure helps the reader to withstand extreme weather and attempted vandalism.

Tamper Switch

An internal tamper switch sends an alarm condition if someone tries to disassemble the reader without authorization.

Connection Considerations

•Use a six conductor cable in applications where LEDs are controlled individually.

•Use a seven conductor cable in applications where both LEDs are controlled by the host.

•Use a 22 AWG (0.8 mm) twisted pair, stranded cable with overall shield in applications requiring a tamper switch function.
