The new Radia R-88 In-Wall Subwoofer System represents the finest design
and engineering technology ever offered in an architectural subwoofer. Ideally
suited for either lifelike home theater or critical music listening, the R-88 is elegantly
unobtrusive yet awesome in its impact. It may be used with other high-performance
in-wall loudspeakers as a no holds barred subwoofer system. However when the R-88 is
combined with the new Radia R-800 In-Wall and R-400C Center Channel, the result is an
overall experience that must be heard to be believed.
From start to finish, the entire R-88 System represents the state-of-the-art in low-
frequency reproduction for an in-wall application. Both the amplifier and woofer
sections incorporate unique and innovative technologies for sonic excellence. BG’s
newly developed 8” woofer, also used in the Radia R-800 System, utilizes an advanced
motor structure that provides much higher linear cone excursion than conventional
p l a n a r t e c h n o l o g y
woofer technology. The result is superbly clean, deep, dynamic and accurate bass that
is astonishingly realistic.
Powering the R-88 is the BGA-2500, a dedicated dual-channel amplifier incorporating
high performance technology with superb sounding amplifiers that utilize a unique
switching power supply and discrete analog output stage. This design, equal in sound
quality to the finest conventional amps, yields a very powerful package in a surprisingly
small chassis and without the need for excessive heat sinks. A comprehensive set of
controls and connections allows for easy setup and control with any system electronics as
well as seamless integration with other loudspeakers in the system. The combination of
our unique woofer technology and powerful state-of-the-art amplification delivers deep
bass performance not previously attained in a wall.
