• Use only the supplied rechargeable battery or replacement battery (model: BT8001) or equivalent.

• Do not open or mut ilate the battery. Rele ased electrolyte is corrosive and may cause dam age to the eyes or skin. It may b e toxic if swallowed.
• Exerc ise care in handling ba tter ies in order not to create a short circuit. Do not allow conductive mater ials such as rin gs, bracelets, or keys to touch the battery. The battery or conductor may overhe at and cause harm.

Charger installation
Install the charger as shown below. Make sure that the electrical outlet is not controlled by a wall switch.
1. Plug the small end of the smaller power adapter into the jack on the underside of the charger, then route the cord through the slot as shown.
NOTES:
1. Use only the power adapter supplied with this product or equivalent.
2. This power unit is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position. The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a ceiling or an under-the-table/cabinet outlet.
2. Plug the large end of the smaller power adapter into an electrical outlet .

Battery installation & charging
The battery may have enough charge for short calls. For optimal performance, 16 hours. You can keep the battery charged by returning the handset to the telephone base after each use. When the battery power is fully depleted, a full recharge takes about 16 hours. When fully charged, the handset battery provides approximately eight hours of talk time and four days of standby time.
we recommend that you charge the handset for
1. Align the two holes of the battery plug with the socket pins in the handset battery compartment, matching the red and black wires to the color-coded label.
2. Place the battery in the compartment with the wires in the lower right corner.
3. Position the battery compartment cover and slide it towards the unit until it clicks into place.
4. Charge the handset by placing the handset face up in the telephone base or in the charger. The CHARGE light will be on when charging.

1. Use only the supplied rechargeable battery or replacement battery (model BT8001).

Adding your new handset
Handsets purchased separately need to be registered to the telephone base before use. When first purchased, all optional accessory handsets will show
NOT REGISTERED on the screen. The new
handset may need to be charged for five minutes before registering to the main telephone base.
To register a handset to your telephone base
1. Place the unregistered handset into the telephone base. If

2. On the telephone base, press and hold FIND
HANDSET for about four seconds (until
the red IN USE light on the telephone base turns on) and then release the button. The handset will show

if registration is successful.

1. If the regi stration is not successfu l, the display will show NOT REGISTERED. To reset t he handset, re move the handse t from the telep hone base and place it back in. Try the registration process aga in.

Replacing a handset
When you are replacing rather than adding a handset, for your handsets to be numbered sequentially, you need to delete all the handset registrations on the telephone base.
To de-register all handsets
1. Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the telephone base for about 10 seconds (until the IN USE light turns on and starts to flash), then release the FIND HANDSET button.
2. Immediately press and release FIND HANDSET again. You must press FIND HANDSET while the IN USE light is still flashing. The IN USE light will flash for approximately seven seconds.
3. Soon the handsets will show CONNECTING... and it will take about 10 seconds to complete the de-registration process. All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED if deregistration is successful.

After deleting all handset registrations, you will need to individually register each handset with the telephone base (see page 4 for registration instructions).

To reset: pick up the handset and press the /FL ASH bu tton, then pres s the OFF/CLEA R button and plac e the handset ba ck into the tele phone base. Belt clip & optional headset
Install belt clip as shown below if desired:
Installation
Snap belt clip into notches on both sides of handset.
Pull and unlock one flap from the notch first before detaching the whole belt clip from handset.
For hands-free telephone conversations, use any industry standard 2.5mm headset (purchased separately). For best results, use a AT&T 2.5mm headset.
Plug the 2.5 mm headset into the jack on the side of the handset (beneath the small rubber flap).

Appendix
Troubleshooting
If you have difficulty with your telephone, please try the suggestions below.
My phone doesn’t work at all
I cannot get a dial tone
• Make sure the power cord is securely plugged in.
• Make sure that the battery connector is securely plugged into the cordless handset.
• Make sure the telephone line cord is securely and firmly plugged into the telephone base and the telephone wall jack.
• Charge the battery in the cordless handset for at least 16 hours. For optimum daily performance, return the cordless handset to its base when not in use.
• Reset the telephone base. Unplug the unit’s electrical power. Wait for approximately 15 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute for the cordless handset and telephone base to reset.
• You may need to purchase a new battery, please refer to page 3 of this user’s manual.
• First try all the suggestions above.
• Move the cordless handset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out of range.
