INSTALLATION
Modular wall jack
Telephone line cord
AC Adapter
Dial mode switch (T or P) RINGER ON/OFF

Table/Desk Installation
1 Choose a spot near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack.
This phone requires a modular wall jack and a standard electrical outlet (110V AC).
2 Connect the telephone line cord.
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the back of the base. Plug the other end of the line cord into a wall jack. Make sure the plug snaps firmly in place.
3 Plug in the power cord.
Plug the round connector of the AC adapter into the back of the base, and the other end into an electrical outlet.
4 Set the dial mode switch.
Set the switch to TONE if you have touch tone service, or to PULSE if you have dial pulse service.
5 Position the antenna.
Rotate the base antenna until it is upright.
6 Select the Ringer volume.
See “Ringer Controls” in the OPERATION section of this manual.
7 Install the handset battery.
(For an illustration of battery installation, see BATTERIES.)
Remove the handset battery cover by pressing down at the center of the top of the cover, and then sliding it off.
Remove the battery from the envelope.
Snap the battery (with the charge contacts facing down) into the battery compartment.
Position the battery cover by sliding it on its track up over the battery compartment until it snaps firmly in place.
8 Charge the handset battery for at least 14 hours.
Turn the handset power OFF . Char ge the handset battery with the handset face down in the base for at least 14 hours. After this initial charge, you can charge the handset battery with the power set to ON.
9 Check for dial tone.
After the batteries are charged, pick up the handset and set the POWER switch to ON. Press P; the PHONE light should go on and you should hear a dial tone.
Wall Installation —
Existing Wall Plate
Follow the directions below if you have an existing wall plate. Use the short telephone line cord.
1 Choose a spot near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack.
This phone requires a modular wall jack and a standard electrical outlet (110V AC).
2 Remove the wall mounting bracket.
Push in on the ribbed tabs facing the back of the base and remove the mounting bracket. (See the illustration on page 2.)
3 Connect the telephone line cord and the power cord to
the telephone base.
Plug one end of the short telephone line cord in the TEL

With Existing Wall Plate

Push in on tabs and remove bracket (Step 2)
Reverse the bracket and re-install it (Step 4)
LINE jack on the back of the base. Plug the round con­nector on the power cord into the POWER jack on the back of the base.
4 Reverse the bracket and re-install it.
Turn the wall mounting bracket so the ribbed tabs are facing the front of the unit.
Snap the bracket into the guides to lock it in place.
5 Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to the wall
jack plug and plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
6 Mount the base on the wall plate.
Align the holes in the wall-mounting bracket with the hooks on the wall plate, and slide the base down until it locks in place.
7 Follow Steps 4 to 9 in Table/Desk Installation.
Connect the telephone line cord to the base (Step 3)
Align the base with the hooks or screws and slide down into place (Step 7)
leaving 3/16” extending from the wall.
3 Follow the directions for wall mounting on Existing
Wall Plate.
Use either the long or short line cord, depending on how far you are from the phone jack.
Belt Clip
If you wish, you can attach the belt clip to the cordless handset, using the illustration below.
Wall Installation —
Without Existing Wall Plate
1 Choose a spot near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack.
This phone requires a modular wall jack and a standard electrical outlet (110V AC).
2 Remove the bracket (see Step 2 above) and use it to mark
the position of the two screws that you will use.
It’s best to mount the base on wall studs.
Hold the bracket up to the wall (with the thicker end facing the floor), and mark the wall through the screw holes in the bracket.
Screw two one-inch screws into the spots you marked,
