When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be taken.

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury:

•Turn off appliance before connecting or disconnecting hose or power attachments.
•Do not use if hose is damaged, cut, or punctured. Avoid vacuuming sharp objects.
•Do not use without filter bag and/or exhaust afterfilter in place.
•Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair, or other materials that may reduce airflow.
•Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
•Do not allow to be used as a toy.
•Do not allow appliance to be operated by or near children.
•Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
•Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
•Do not use to vacuum flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline. Do not use in areas where such liquids may be present.
•Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
•Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
•Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
•Do not change the plug in any way. Do not use adapters. To reduce risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a polarized plug. This plug will fit in an electrical outlet only one way. If it does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet.
•Turn off all controls before unplugging.
•Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
•Unplug before connecting non-electrical mechanical accessories.
•Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
•Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners.
Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
•Do not attempt to service this unit. Return appliance to an authorized Aerus center if it is not working properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water.

MISE EN GARDE
Pour réduire les risques d’incendie, de choc électrique ou de blessure :

•Toujours arrêter l’appareil avant de monter ou de démonter le boyau ou un accessoire à moteur.
•Ne pas l’utiliser si le boyau est endommagé, coupé ou crevé. Éviter d’aspirer des objets tranchants.
•Ne pas utiliser l’appareil sans sac-filtre ou filtre secondaire d’évacuation.

•Ne jamais permettre que l’appareil soit utilisé par des enfants ou à proximité de ces derniers.
•Être doublement prudent pour le nettoyage d’escaliers.
•Ne jamais utiliser l’appareil à l’extérieur ou sur des surfaces humides.
•Ne pas utiliser l’appareil pour aspirer des liquides inflammables ou combustibles, de l’essence, par exemple. Ne pas utiliser l’appareil dans des endroits où il peut y avoir de tels liquides.
•Ne rien aspirer qui brûle ou qui fume, par exemple, cigarettes, allumettes ou cendres chaudes.
•Tenir les cheveux, les vêtements, les doigts et toute partie du corps à l’écart des orifices et des pièces mobiles.
•Ne pas laisser l’appareil branché sans surveillance. Toujours débrancher l’appareil après usage ou avant d’y travailler.
•Ne jamais modifier la fiche. Ne jamais utiliser d’adaptateurs. Pour réduire les risques de choc électrique, cet appareil est doté d’une fiche polarisée. Cette fiche est conçue pour être engagée dans une prise de courant d’une seule façon. Si on ne peut pas l’engager dans la prise, communiquer avec un électricien qualifié pour faire installer la prise qui convient.
•Tout arrêter avant de débrancher.
• Pour débrancher, saisir la fiche; ne pas tirer sur le fil électrique lui-même.
•Débrancher l’appareil avant de monter les accessoires mécaniques non-électriques.
•Ne pas utiliser l’appareil si le fil électrique ou la fiche sont endommagés.
•Ne pas tirer ou transporter l’appareil par le fil électrique, ou se servir de ce dernier comme d’une poignée. Ne pas fermer de porte sur le fil ou tirer celui-ci le long de coins ou d’arêtes vives. Ne pas faire passer l’appareil sur le fil électrique. Tenir ce dernier à l’écart des surfaces chaudes.
•Ne jamais tenter de réparer/entretenir cet appareil. Si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas normalement, qu’il est tombé, entré en contact avec l’eau ou endommagé, ou qu’il a été laissé à l’extérieur, le retourner à un centre Aerus agréé.

HANDLE ASSEMBLY
The operating handle of your new Lux® Guardian can easily be attached to your cleaner as follows:
CAUTION: Be sure unit is NOT plugged in before assembling handle.
• Locate the handle assembly 1 . Remove the mounting screw 6 and nut plate 2 from the handle.
•Open the cleaner bag compartment lid, remove the filter bag. Place the nut plate into the pocket 3 inside the bag compartment as shown.
• Fit the end of the handle into the handle receptacle 4 IMPORTANT: Press down firmly when plugging handle into the receptacle.
•Hold the handle against the bag compartment, attach the carry handle 7 and thread the mounting screw 6 through the handles into the nut plate.
•Tighten the mounting screw securely using a screwdriver.
NOTE: The handle must be properly inserted into the receptacle for the screw to engage the nut plate(2).
•The accessory plug 5 is an electrical connection for powered accessories such as the Sidekick®.
• 8 Attach HEPA Filter per header card instructions.

NOTE: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does
not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
POWER CORD STORAGE
Your cleaner includes a combination cord cleat/cord holder: To remove the cord, rotate the cord cleat until the power cord is released A . Remove the cord from the lower cord wrap. Connect the cord plug into a 120V/60Hz power supply.
