Always use extreme caution when drilling on any vehicle. Make sure that all fuel lines, brake lines, electrical wires, and other objects are not punctured or damaged when / if drilling on the vehicle. Thoroughly inspect the area to be drilled (on both sides of material) prior to drilling, and relocateanyobjectsthatmaybedamaged. Always use appropriate and adequate care in lifting components into place.

Always insure components will remain secure during installation and operation.

Always tighten all nuts and bolts securely, per the installation and operation.

Always perform regular inspections and maintenance on the winch, winch mount and related hardware.

Never ever operate this WARN product with damaged or missing parts.

NOTE: This unit is to be used only on vehicles equipped with a Warn Front Receiver or a class 3 receiver trailer hitch.

1. Install the fairlead on the front of the winch mounting plate (Figure 1.)

2. Install the winch to the mounting plate using the instructions and fasteners provided with the winch.

NOTE: Start all bolts into the winch feet before tightening. The winch feet may spread during shipping. Start both bolts in one drum support then hold free end of the winch up off of the mounting plate while starting the bolts. DO NOT DRILL THE MOUNTING HOLES LARGER. The winch will be properly aligned once all bolts are tightened.

Make sure the positive (+) cable exitsthesideoftheplugmarkedwitha“+”symbol,andthenegative(-)groundcableexitsthesideoftheplugmarkedwitha“-”symbol. Thepositivecablecanbeidentifiedby the white stripe and the “+” symbols printed on the insulation. Some positive cables have red insulation. The ground cable is black.

3.The 6-foot electrical quick-connect cable furnished is intended for connection to the battery on vehicle front receiver installations. For winch use at the rear of vehicle, longer quick-connect cables are available from Warn dealers. For 20-foot kit, order part number 32963. For 24foot kit, order part number 32966. Choose a location on the bumper or grille to mount the quick-connect plug as shown in Figure 2. Be sure that the plug from the winch will reach when the multi-mount is inserted in the receiver with hitch pin in place. Connect the + and - cable ends to the vehicle battery.

4.Snap the dust cover into the vehicle mounted plug to keep it clean when not in use. The lanyard can be attached to one of the cables or to other locations.

NOTE: The quick-connect plug mounted on the vehicle and wired to the battery makes an ideal point to connect booster cables. A heavy duty 16 foot set of boosters made for this purpose is available from Warn dealers under part number 26771.
