This appliance is heavy and c are

Ensure that all pack aging, both
inside and outsid e the appliance has
been removed before the appliance
is used.
If the appliance is to be placed on a
base, measures must be tak en to
prevent the appliance s lipping from
the base.
Do not try to lift or move the
appliance by pulli ng the door
handles.
The electrical i nstallation work must
be undertaken by a qual ified
electrician/competent person.
It is dangerous to alter or modify the
specifications of the a ppliance in any
way.
Do not allow young children to p lay
with any part of the pac kaging.
After installation, please dispose of
the packaging with due regard to
safety and the environm ent, your
local authority ca n arrange this.
DURING OPERATION
This appliance is n ot intended to be
operated by means of an externa l
timer or separate rem ote control
syst em.
Do not use this appliance if it is in
contact with water. Never opera te it
with wet hands.
This appliance is designed to be
operated by adults. Young c hildren
must not be allowed to tamper with
the appliance or play with the
controls.
During use the appli ance becomes
Hot. Care should be taken to avoid
touching the heatin g elements inside
the oven.
CAUTION: Accessible parts may
be hot when the grill is in use.
Young children should be kept
away.
Take great care when heatin g fats
and oils, as they will ignite if the y
become too hot.
This appliance has b een designed for
cooking edible foodstuf fs only, and
must not be used for any ot her
purposes.
Never place plastic or a ny other
material which m ay melt in the ove n
or on the hob.
Ensure cooking utensi ls are large
enough to contain f oods to prevent
spillages and bo il overs.
The handles of saucepans wh ich are
smaller than the heated area on the
hob will become hot. Ensur e your
hand is protected bef ore handling the
pan.

Take care to follow the
recommendations gi ven for tending
the food when grilling.
Do not leave the grill pan handle i n
position when grill ing as it will
become hot.
Alw ays use oven gloves t o remove
and replace food in the o ven.
Similarly alwa ys use oven glov es to
remove and replace the gri ll pan
handle when grilling.
Follow the recomm endations on
page 16.
Ensure that you sup port the grill pan
when it is in the withdrawn or partial ly
withdrawn position.
Ensure that all ve nts are lef t
unobstructed to ensure ventilation of
the oven cav ity.
Ensure th e anti-tilt shelves ar e put in
place correctly. Ref er to instructions
on pages 18 and 20.
Never line any part of the ap pliance
with foil. Do not allow heatpr oof
cooking materials e.g . roasting bags,
to come into contact with oven
elements.
Alw ays stand back from the
appliance when opening the ove n
door to allow any build up of steam or
heat to release.
Never leave the app liance
unattended when the oven doors
are open.
Do not place sealed cans or
aerosols inside the oven. T hey may
explode if they are heated.
Do not leave the hotplates s witched
ON for long periods when not
covered by a saucepan. T he controls
and cabinets ma y overheat.
AFTER USE
Ensure that all c ontrol knobs are i n
the OFF position when not in use.
For hygiene and safet y reasons
this appliance should be kept
clean at all times. A build-up of
fats or other foodstuffs could
result in a fire, especiall y in the
grill pan.
Do not leave utensils contai ning
foodstuffs, e.g. fat or oil in or on the
appliance in case it is in advertently
switched ON.
Cookers and hobs becom e very hot ,
and retain their heat f or a long perio d
of time after use. Children should be
kept well away from the appliance
until it has cooled.
GENERAL
Under no circumstances should
an y r epa ir s be ca rri ed out by an
inexperienced person as this may
cause injury or seri ous malfunction.
This appliance shou ld be serviced b y
an authorised service Engineer and
only genuine-approved s pare parts
should be used. Details of r epair and
servicing arrangem ents are supplied
on page 29 of this bo ok.
Do not stand on the applianc e or on
the open oven door.
Do not hang towels, dishcloths or
clothes from the app liance or its
handle. They are a s afety hazard.
Only clean this ap pliance in
accordance with the instructions
given in this book.

RATING PLA TE
This is situated on the lo wer front frame of the
appliance and can be seen upo n opening the door .
Alternatively the r ating plate ma y also be found on
the back or top of s ome models (where appl icable).
The appliance m ust be protected by a suit ably rated
fuse or circuit breaker. T he rating of the applia nce is
given on the rating p late.
Do not remove the rating plate from the appliance
as this may invalidate t he guarantee.
INSTALLATION
If your appliance has been damaged in transit,
contact your supplier immediately. DO NOT attempt
to install it.
Your appliance left the factor y fully packaged to
protect it from damage. If it is delivered without
packaging and damage has occurred, the
manufacturer c annot accept responsibi lity. Contact
your supplier for ad vice.
Once the packaging has been r emoved the applia nce
should only be moved b y hand. DO NOT use a sack
barrow or any other a id to lift the app liance as
damage may occur.
Connection to the electricit y supply must be carried
out by a qualified electrician/com petent person.
The electrical conn ection should be m ade using a
double pole isolati ng switch (cook er socket) with at
least 3mm contact s eparation in all po les. The cable
must have conductors of sufficiently high cros s-
sectional area to pre vent overheating an d
deterioration.
The recommended cross -section area is six s quare
millimetres (6.00mm
2
).
The cable should be rout ed away from potentially hot
areas marked b y X in the diagram belo w.
To move the appliance, open the m ain oven door,
and lift the applianc e by holding ins ide the top of the
compartment.
This is a type X a ppliance, which m eans it is fr ee-
standing and can be fitte d with cabinets on one or
both sides. It ma y also be fitted in a corner setting.
Side walls which ar e above hob leve l should be
protected by heat resist ant non-combustible material
and MUST NOT be nearer than 40mm to the hob
side.
A nominal air gap of 2mm at either side of the
appliance is requ ired to enable the appliance t o be
moved into position. It is recomm ended that
proprietary trim s are fitted to protect t he worktops of
either side of the app liance. These are available
from most DIY store s.
Always ensure an a ir gap is mainta ined at hotplate
level. Tiles or other form s of deep wall coverin g
should not obscure this gap.
Overhanging surfac es or a cooker hood should be a
minimum of 685mm above the hob.

It is important to ens ure that the appliance is level
after installation. Levelli ng feet are fitted to the
appliance to accom modate uneven floor s.
GENERAL NOTES ON USING YOUR
APPLIANCE
We suggest that you run the oven elem ents for 10 –
15 minutes at 220
o
C to burn off any resi due from
their surfaces. T he procedure should be repeated
with the grill for approximatel y 5 – 10 minutes.
During this period an odour may be emitted, it is
therefore advisable to open a window for ve ntilation.
ABOUT CONDENSATION AND STEAM
When food is heated it produc es steam sim ilar to a
boiling kettle. T he oven is vented t o allow som e of
this steam to escape between the wall an d the rear of
the appliance. Ho wever, always stand back from the
appliance when opening the ove n door to allow any
build up of steam or heat to release.
If the steam comes into contact with a c ool surface
on the outside of the app liance, e.g. a trim , it will
condense and produce water dr oplets. This is quit e
normal and is not ca used by a fault on the appliance.
To prevent discoloura tion, regularl y wipe away
condensation and also soilage from surfaces.
For your safety wall coverings at the rear of the
appliance should be securely fixed to th e wall.
CONTROL PANEL INDICATOR NEONS
These lights indic ate whether the o vens are switch ed
on.
The neons also indicate when the set t emperature
has been reached. T hey will turn on and off during
use to show that the t emperature is bein g
maintained.
If the neons do not operate as the instructions
indicate the contro ls have been incorr ectly set.
Return all controls to zer o and re-set follo wing the
instructions for the required settin g.
THE COOLING FAN FOR THE CONTROLS
The cooling fan will al ways come on when th e grill
and the top oven are s witched on. If they are only
used for a short peri od of time the f an will switc h off
when the controls are tur ned off. If the grill or the top
oven are used for a longer period of tim e the fan will
run on depending on the temper ature, and may turn
on and off until the a ppliance has cooled.
In the case of the m ain oven the cooling fan may not
switch on except when used for a longer period of
time. The cooling f an may run on, and tur n on and
off after the control k nobs have been s witched off,
until the applianc e has cooled. Do not switch the
appliance off at its power poi nt until the fan has
cooled the applianc e down.
