earthed mains power socket. Ensure that the rating for your local power supply corresponds with the details on the rating plate of the appliance.
Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or moist during use.
Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be crushed or damaged.
Keep the power cable well away from sources of heat. Do not lead it in
front of the microwave oven door. The heat could damage the cable.
Remove the plug from the mains power socket when the appliance is
being cleaned or in the event of a fault. It is not sufficient to switch off the appliance, since mains voltage is present for as long as the plug is connected to the mains power socket.
Always remove the plug from the mains power socket when the appli-
ance is not in use.
To prevent accidents, have defective plugs and/or power cables re-
placed immediately by a qualified specialist technician or our Customer Service Department.
The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from
children.
Never submerge the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water
or other liquids.
Never pour liquids into the ventilation openings or the safety door locking

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
When heating drinks in the microwave, bubbling may be delayed
when the drink boils. You should therefore take care when handling the container. To avoid sudden boiling and the risk of injury:
– If possible, place a glass rod in the liquid for as long as it is being
heated.
– After heating a liquid allow it to stand in the microwave oven for
approx. 20 seconds to prevent it from boiling over unexpectedly.
Proceed with caution when warming up liquids. Use only open con-
tainers, so that any air bubbles produced can escape.
Eggs in their shells and hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in the
micro wave oven, because they can explode, even after the heating process is completed. Always prick food with thick skins, such as potatoes, sausages, whole pumpkins, apples and chestnuts before cooking.
This appliance is designed for heating foods and drinks. Drying foods
or clothing or the warming of heating pads, slippers, sponges, damp cloths or similar can lead to injuries, ignition of the material or fires.

When heating foods in plastic or paper containers, ensure that they
are checked frequently to prevent possible combustion.
Never place flammable materials close to the microwave oven or the
ventilation openings.
Remove all metallic closures from the packaging of the foodstuff you
intend to warm up. Risk of fire!
Always use popcorn bags that are suitable for microwave ovens when
making popcorn.

Earthing information/ correct installation
This appliance must be earthed. This appliance
must only be connected to a correctly earthed power socket. A separate circuit that is devoted to connecting the microwave is recommended.
DANGER – ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Improper use of the earthing connector could
increase the risk of electric shock.
NOTE
If you have any questions about earthing or
the instructions concerning the use of this electrical appliance, please consult an electrician or a maintenance technician.
Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer can ac-
cept liability for damage to the microwave oven or injury to persons resulting from failure to comply with the instructions for electrical connection.

If such interference should occur, it may be reduced or corrected by taking the following remedial measures:
Clean the door and the sealing surfaces of the
microwave oven.
Realign the radio or television antenna.
Put the microwave in a different location than
the receiver.
Move the microwave away from the receiver.
Plug the microwave into another wall socket.
The microwave and the receiver should be connected to different power circuits.
Before starting
Basic principles of microwave cookery
Think carefully about how to arrange the food
The thickest parts should be at the edges.
Pay attention to the cooking time. Select the
shortest possible specified cooking time and increase as required. Food that is cooked for too long can begin to smoke or catch fire.
Cover the food with a lid that is suitable for micro-
wave cookery during cooking. The lid prevents splashing and helps to cook the food evenly.
While cooking, turn the food in the microwave
once so that items such as chicken or hamburgers cook more quickly.
Turn large food items such as joints of meat at
least once.
Completely re-arrange foods such as meatballs
after half of the cooking time. Turn them and move the meatballs from the middle of the cookware to the edge.
Suitable cookware
The ideal material for a microwave oven is
microwave-permeable, allowing the energy to pass through the container to heat the food. Microwaves cannot pass through metal. For this reason metal containers and cookware should not be used.
Do not use products made from recycled paper
when using the microwave for heating. These may contain minute fragments of metal, which can generate sparks and/or fires.
We recommend the use of round/oval cookware
rather than square or oblong containers, since food in corner areas tends to overcook.

CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Never operate the microwave when it is

Keep a gap of at least 20 cm free above the
microwave.

Do not remove the pads beneath the microwave
oven.
Do not block the ventilation openings . If you
do, it could cause damage to the appliance.
Install the appliance as far away as possible
from radios and televisions. Operation of the microwave oven can cause interference with radio and television reception.

or any other appliance that generates heat. Installation in such a location could cause damage to the appliance and lead to a subsequent cancellation of the warranty provisions.
Preparing the appliance
1) Remove all packaging materials and any stickers from the appliance.
NOTE
Do not remove the light grey mica cover plate that is fitted in the cooking area to protect the magnetron.
Installation of the appliance

SMW 700 B1
2) Place the star of the rotator insert  onto the drive shaft inside the oven.
3) Now place the roller ring of the rotator insert centrally in the oven.
4) Place the glass plate centrally onto the star of the rotator insert so that the star grips between the catches on the glass plate  and sits firmly in place.
5) Insert the plug into a mains power socket. Use a 230 - 240 V ~, 50 Hz, mains socket with 16 A fuse. We recommend connecting the microwave oven to a separate mains circuit. If you are unsure about how to connect the microwave oven, consult a specialist.
