This product must be installed by a licensed plumber or gas tt er qualied or
licensed by the State of Massachusetts. When using ball- type gas shu t-off valves,
you must use the T-handle type. Multiple exible gas lines must not be connected
in series.
General safety
WARNING

• Know the location of the gas shutoff valve and how to shut it o f f.

• Do not let children near, in, or on the range. Do not let childr en play with the
range or any part(s) of the range. Do not leave childr en unatt ended in an ar ea
where the range is in use. For children’ s saf e ty, we recommend utilizing the
control/door lockout featur e .
• Remove all packaging materials from the range before operating to prev ent
ignition of these materials. Keep all packaging materials out of children’ s
reach. Properly dispose the packaging materials after the range is unpacked.
• Do not store any object of inter es t to childr en on the c ookt op or back guar d
of the range. Children climbing on the range to r each it ems c ould be killed or
seriously injured.
• Do not operate the range if the range or any part of the r ange is damaged,
malfunctioning, or missing parts.
• Do not use the range as a space heater. This range is to be used for c ooking
purposes only.
• Do not use oven cleaners or oven liners in or ar ound any part of the o v en.
• Use only dry pot holders.
• Do not use the range to heat unopened food containers.
• Do not strike the oven glass.
• When disposing of the range, cut off the power cord and remove the door.
• Unplug or disconnect power befor e servicing.
• Make sure all meat and poultry is cooked thoroughly. Meat should always be
cooked to an internal temperatur e of 160 °F (71 °C). Poultry should always be
cooked to an internal temperatur e of 180 °F (82 °C).

• If a grease re should occur in the oven, turn off the oven by rotating the
mode selector knob to the OFF position. Keep the oven door closed until the
re goes out. If necessary, use a multipurpo se dry chemical or f oam- type r e
extinguisher.
• Do not heat unopened food containers - buildup of pressur e may c ause
container to burst and result in injury.
Gas safety
WARNING

following precautions.
If you smell gas:
• Close the valve and do not use the range.
• Do not light a match, candle, or cigarett e.
• Do not turn on any gas or electric appliances.
• Do not touch any electrical switches or plug a power c or d into an ou tle t.
• Do not use any phone in your building.
• Evacuate the room, building, or area of all oc cupants.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follo w the gas
supplier’s instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the re department.
Checking for gas leaks
• Leak testing of the appliance shall be conducted ac c or ding t o the
manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use a ame to check f or gas leak s. Use a
brush to spread a soapy water mixtur e ar ound the ar ea you ar e checking. If
there is a gas leak, you will see small bubbles in the soapy water mixtur e at
the leak point.

following precautions.
• Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
• Do not remove the ground pr ong.
• Do not use an adapter or an
extension cord.
• Do not use a damaged power plug,
power cord, or loose power ou tlet.
• Do not modify the power plug,
power cord, or power ou tlet in any
way.
• Do not put a fuse in a neutral or ground circuit.
• Use a dedicated 240-volt, 60-Hz, 40-amp, AC, fused electrical cir cuit f or this
range. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is r ec ommended. Do not plug mor e
than one appliance into this circuit.
• Do not connect the ground wire to plastic plumbing lines, gas lines, or ho t
water pipes.
• This range must be Earth grounded. In the event o f a malfunction or
breakdown, grounding will reduc e the risk of electric al shock b y pr o viding
a path for the electric current. This range is equipped with a cord having
a grounding plug. The plug must be rmly plugged into an outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accor danc e with the local c ode s and
ordinances. If you are unsure whe ther y our electrical ou tle t is pr operly
grounded, have it checked by a licensed electrician.
• Electrical service to the range must conf orm t o local c odes. Barring loc al
codes, it should meet the latest ANSI/NFPA No . 70 – Lat es t Re vision (f or the
U.S.) or the Canadian Electrical Code CSA C22.1 – Latest Re visions.
• It is the personal responsibility of the range owner to pro vide the c orr ec t
electrical service for this range.

technicians.
• Make sure your range is corr ec tly inst alled and adjust ed b y a qualied servic e
technician or installer for the type of gas (natural or LP) y ou will use . F or
your range to utilize LP gas. The installer mus t r eplac e the 6 surf ac e burner
orices with the provided LP orice set. And re v erse the GPR adap ter. These
adjustments must be made by a qualied service technician in acc or danc e
with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and r equir ements o f the
authority having jurisdiction. The qualied agency performing this work
assumes the gas conversion responsibility .
• Installation of this range must conf orm with local c odes or, in the absence of
local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA.54, lat es t
edition. In Canada, installation must conform with the current Natural Gas
Installation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.1, or the curr ent Pr opane Inst allation Code ,
CAN/CGA-B149.2, and with local codes where applicable . This r ange has been
design-certied by ETL according t o ANSI Z21.1, lates t edition, and Canadian
Gas Association according to CAN/CGA -1.1, late st edition.
Location safety
WARNING

following precautions.
• This range is for indoor, household use
only. Do not inst all the r ange in ar eas
exposed to the weather and/or water.
• Do not install the range in a place
which is exposed to a strong draft.
• Select a level, well-construct ed oor that can support the r ange ’ s weigh t.
Synthetic ooring, such as linoleum, must withstand 180 °F (82 °C)
temperatures without shrinking, warping, or disc oloring. Do no t ins tall
the range directly over interior kitchen c arpeting unle ss a shee t of ¼ inch
plywood or a similar insulator is placed between the range and c arpeting.
• Select a location where a grounded, 3- prong outlet is easily ac c es sible.
• If the range is located near a window, do not hang long curt ains or paper
blinds on that window.
• For the range to ventilate properly, make sure the range’s vents ar e no t
blocked or covered, and that ther e is enough clear anc e at the top , back, sides,
and underneath the range. The vents allow the necessary e xhaus t f or the r ange
to operate properly with correc t c ombustion and ge t the good c ooking r esult.
• Make sure the wall cov erings ar ound the r ange c an withs tand heat up t o
194 °F (90 °C) generated by the range .
• Cabinet storage above the surf ac e o f the r ange should be av oided. If cabine t
storage above the range is nec es sary: allow a minimum clearance of 30 inches
(76.2 cm) between the cooking surface and the bott om of c abinets. For detail
information, please refer to the Minimum dimensions section on page 14.

following precautions.
• Make sure all burners are off when not
in use.
• Do not use aluminium foil to line the
grates or any part of the cooktop.
• Do not leave burners unattended on
medium or high heat settings.
• Before igniting, make sure all burner
caps are properly in place and all
burners are level.
• Always use the Lite position when igniting the burners and make sure the
burners have ignited. If ignition fails, turn the knob to OFF and wait until the
gas has dissipated.
• When you set a burner to simmer, do not turn the knob quickly. Make sur e the
ame stays on.
• Do not place any objects other than cookwar e on the c ookt op.
• This cooktop is designed to cook with a wok or wok ring attachment. If f oods
are amed, they should only be amed under a ventilation hood that is on.
• Before removing or changing c ookw ar e , turn o ff the burner s.
• Remove food and cookw ar e immediately aft er c ooking.
• Before removing any parts o f the burner f or cleaning, mak e sur e the r ange is
off and completely cool.
• After cleaning the burner spreader, make sure it is complet ely dry bef or e r e-
assembling.
• Make sure the spark mark on the dual burner spreader is placed beside the
electrode when it is assembled.
• To avoid carbon mono xide poisoning, do not pour w at er int o the c ooktop w ell
while cleaning.
• Select cookware that is designed for t op-r ange c ooking. Use c ookw ar e that is
large enough to cover the burner grat es. A djus t the burner ames so that the
ames do not extend beyond the bottom o f the c ookw ar e .
• To avoid cookware discoloration, deformity, and/or carbon monoxide
poisoning, do not use cookware that is e x c eedingly lar ger than the gr ate .
• Make sure cookwar e handles ar e turned to the side or r ear o f the c ookt op , but
not over other surface burner s.
• Stand away from the range while frying.
• Always heat frying oils slowly, and watch as they heat. If you are frying foods
at high heat, carefully watch during the cooking proc es s. If a c ombination of
fats or oils is to be used during frying, mix them together befor e heating.
• Use a deep-fryer thermometer whenever possible . This pr e v ents o v erheating
the fryer beyond the smoking point.
• Use a minimum amount of oil when shallow pan-frying or deep-frying. Av oid
cooking unthawed food or food with ex c es siv e amounts of ic e .
• Before moving cookw ar e full o f f ats or oils, mak e sur e it has c omple tely
cooled.
• To prev ent delay ed erup tiv e boiling, alw ay s allow heat ed liquids t o st and at
least 20 seconds after you have turned off the burner so that the t emper atur e
in the liquid can stabilize. In the event of sc alding, f ollo w these rs t aid
instructions:

• Only use cookware that is recommended for use in gas ovens.
• To avoid damaging the burner contr ol knobs, always bake and/or broil with
the oven door closed.
• Do not broil meat too close to the burner ame. T rim e x c ess fat from meat
before cooking.
• When using cooking or roasting bags in the oven, f ollo w the manuf actur er’ s
directions.
Self-cleaning oven saf e ty
WARNING

following precautions.
• The self-cleaning feature operat es the
oven at temperatures high enough
to burn away food soils in the oven.
The range is extremely hot during a
self-cleaning cycle. Do not touch any
surfaces of the range during a self cleaning cycle.
• Keep children away from the ov en during a self-cleaning cycle.
• Before starting a self -cleaning cy cle , remove all racks, cookwar e , and ut ensils
from the oven. Only porcelain-c oated o v en r ack s may be left in the o v en.
• Before starting a self -cleaning cy cle , wipe gr ease and f ood soils fr om the
oven.
• When opening the door after a self-cleaning cycle, stand away from the oven.
• If the self-cleaning cycle malfunctions, turn off the ov en, disc onnec t the pow er
supply, and contact a qualied service t echnician.
