FEATURES
Your RadioShack 12-Volt • 10-Amp Regulated Power Supply is designed to power equipment that requires 12V DC au tomotive power. The power supply converts standard 120V AC household power to 13.8V DC power and can supply up to 10 amps of continuous power.
Your vehicle’s 12-volt electrical system provides 13. 8 Volts

ing an improper extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure:
a. The pins on the extension cord’s plug are of the same num-
ber, size, and shape as those of the plug on the power supply.
b. The extension cord i s properly wired and in goo d electrical
condition.
c. The extension cord’s wire size is at least 18 AWG.
• Do not disassemble the power supply; take it to a qualified service technician when service or repair is required. Improper reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.

• Do not use an attachment not recommended or sold by Ra-
dioShack or this could result in a risk of fire, electric shock , or injury to persons.
• Never push any object into the slot in the power supply. It could
touch dangerous voltage points or short out pa rts resulting in a fire or electrical shock.
Caution
: To reduce the risk of damage:
• Do not expose the power supply to rain or excessive moisture.
• Do not operate the power supply if it has been dropped or
damaged in any way. Take it to a qualified service technician for repair.
• Slots an d openings on the back and bottom of the po wer sup-
ply’s cabinet are for ventilation. To ensure the power supply’s reliable operation and to protect it from overheating, be sure these openings are not blocked or covered.
• The power supply should be operated only from a standard AC
outlet that provides 120V AC/60 Hz, as indicated on the label. If you are not sure of t he ty pe of powe r s upplied t o y our h ome , consult your local power company.
• For added safety, the power supply’s polarized plug (one blade
wider than the other) fits only into a polarized outlet. If your AC outlet is not designed for the polarized plug, have an electrician install the correct outlet, or use an adapter to ground the power supply safely. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug.
• To protect the power sup ply during a lightning storm or wh en it
is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the AC outlet. This will prevent damage to the power supply from lightning and power surges.
• Unplug the po wer s upply f rom the o utl et before a ttem pting any
maintenance or cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning and then wipe it dry immediately .

• Do not operate the power supply with a dam aged cord or plug — replace them immediately. To reduce the risk of dama ge to the electric plug and cord:
a. Make sure the cord is not located where it will be stepped
on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress.
b. Disconnect the power supply by pulling the cord’s plug
rather than the cord.
• If your power supply does not operate normally, in particular if any unusual sounds or smells com e from it, immediately unplug it and contact your local RadioShack store.
