Records and Plays Standard DV and Mini­DV Tapes, and Plays DVCAM Tapes

The AG-DV2500 records and plays both standard DV and Mini-DV
cassettes in SP mode, and plays both large and small DVCAM tape
cassettes. It can record for up to 276 minutes on a standard DV
cassette (AY-DV276MQ).

DV (IEEE1394) Digital Input/Output

The AG-DV2500 is equipped with an IEEE1394-compliant 4-pin DV
terminal. This makes a host of operations possible, including
synchronized recording with a DV camera-recorder, digital dubbing
with a DV recorder, uploading to the PC in a nonlinear editing system,
and downloading after editing.

RS-422A Interface

The AG-DV2500 is equipped with a 9-Pin RS-422A interface. This
lets you operate the AG-DV2500 using an RS-422A remote controller
such as our AJ-A95 or an editing controller such as our AG-A850.

*The AG-DV2500 has no editing functions. Use it as the source machine in an editing system.

High-Quality PCM Audio

Two audio modes are provided: 2-channel (16-bit, 48-kHz sampling)
and 4-channel (12-bit, 32-kHz sampling). In 4-channel mode, open
channels can be used later to dub in narration or other audio.

Compatible with Both NTSC and PAL

The AG-DV2500 automatically detects and plays DV footage
recorded in NTSC or PAL, making it easy to upload footage to a
nonlinear editing system. The AG-DV2500 can also record in either
NTSC or PAL mode; simply set the switch on the rear panel to the
mode desired. Recording onto standard DV and Mini-DV cassettes is
possible in both formats.

*Cannot be used as an NTSC/PAL format converter.
*NTSC and PAL signals cannot both be input at the same time.

Wireless Remote Control

The AG-DV2500 is equipped with a multifunctional
wireless remote control. In addition to controlling
basic operations, the remote can be used to display
menus, show the color bar, select audio output,
search for blank sections of the tape, and perform
other functions.

Search, Jog & Shuttle

The AG-DV2500 can search at up to 9x normal
speed for quick time-code cueing. Jog & shuttle
searches are also possible using the optional 9-pin
AJ-A95 Remote Controller.

Time-Code Recording and Playback

The AG-DV2500 comes equipped with a time code reader and
generator.

Index Search, Blank Search

The AG-DV2500 can quickly locate index signals
recorded onto the tape and blank sections of tape.

Tower Placement

Save valuable space by using the AG-DV2500
vertically with the stand provided. This saves
space in crowded areas around the PC in a
nonlinear editing system.

Non-Linear Editing System

Video Monitor

Upload AV data to the non-linear editing system,
then download it after editing. The ability to send
and receive VTR control signals enables batch
processing when capturing footage by simply
registering the time code IN/OUT points.

Non-Linear Editing System

The AG-DV2500 can be linked to the rec start/stop
operation of the Panasonic AG-DVX100 mini-DV
camera-recorder for back-up or dub recording.
Select from the following three linking modes: Link
with camera recording, start AG-DV2500 recording
as the camera-recorder approaches the end of the
tape, or record only with the AG-DV2500.

The AG-DV2500 is ideal as the
source machine in a linear editing
system. Or, combine it with the
AG-A850 Editing Controller (with
RS-422A remote controller) and
the conventional S-VHS Editing
Recorder such as AG-DS555
(NTSC) or AG-8700(PAL) to easily
configure a cut editing system.

The AG-DV2500 features analog
input/output (YC, composite). You
can input an analog signal and
convert it to a digital signal, or
convert a digital signal to analog.
This makes it possible to use the
AG-DV2500 as an A/D, D/A
converter for applications such as
uploading analog material to a
non-linear editing system, or
sending data from the non-linear
editing system to an analog VTR.

Easily preview DV data or check edited tapes. Lightweight at only 2.3 kg(5.1lbs),
the AG-DV2500 can easily be carried anywhere for on-the-spot playback.
