Introduction

This section provides a brief user guide and covers the following:

List of Keys

Figure 1 showing the keys can be found overleaf.
Keys on side of phone:
Switches power on/off; press and hold to switch phone on or off. In a call, pressing mutes the microphone.

and Select earpiece volume (hold for continuous scrolling). Keys on front of phone: ABC Selects/deselects alpha mode. Press once to select alpha
mode (eg, to enter characters or view names), and press again to deselect alpha mode and revert to number mode.
MEM Stores information in a memory location. FCN Enters Menu A, B or C.
After a menu function is selected (by pressing FCN then a number key, * or #), FCN may be used to view options in the selected function, and select the displayed option.
C Clears last digit or character entered, and (when held down)
clears the entire entry. Exits the menu. Dials the voicemail or ’favourite’ (predefined) number.
R Recalls information from a memory location.
If the display is full, shows hidden digits. Dials a number. ie; originates a call).
In a call, sends DTMF. Ends a call.

0 to 9, * and # Enter numbers and characters.
After pressing R, * and # scroll the memory locations. After pressing FCN, * and # scroll the functions in a selected menu. (Hold * or # for continuous scrolling).
9, * and # are also used for one–touch dialling (of predefined numbers); press and hold the key.
The * key scrolls to the previous memory location/menu function (Y symbol). The # key scrolls to the next memory location/menu function (B symbol).
* also produces the special characters, ’+’, ’p’ and ’w’: ’+’ may be used as an international dialling prefix, and for memory linking. ’+’, ’p’ and ’w’ are used for DTMF dialling.

Signal Indicator Shows approximate received signal strength.

Charging Indicator Steady C – charging is in progress.
Flashing C – charging is complete (only present when charger is connected).

Battery Indicator Shows approximate capacity remaining. Scrolls
when charging is in progress. Flashes to show that battery is too hot or too cold, and will not be charged.

Volume Indicator Shows earpiece (or handsfree) volume level.

ABC Indicator Indicates that ALPHA input/viewing mode has been
selected; letters and names can be entered and displayed.
7 SERV Indicator Indicates cellular service available.

In–call Indicator Indicates that a call is in progress.

ROAM Indicator Flashes to indicate inter–system roaming; steady for
inter–area roaming.

Getting Started

Switch on/off Press and hold the key. Make a call Key in the number (include area code if
necessary). Press key.
Answer a call Press any key except or the volume
keys. End a call Press key. Clear digit Press C key. Clear display Press and hold C key. Last number redial
Adjust volume
Ensure display is clear, then press
key.
Press or key.

The Memory

Store a phone number Key in area code, number (and name if
required).
Press MEM key. Press MEM key again
to store the number in the first empty
memory location. Speed dialling Enter the number of the memory
location containing the number to be
dialled (eg. 2).
Alternatively, press ABC key (to select
alpha mode), then enter the name
stored with the number to be dialled.
Press key. Scroll for a number Press R then * or # to scroll all used
memory locations in numerical order. Scroll for a name Press ABC key (to select alpha mode).
Press # to display the name which is first
in alphabetical order (of first letter), or
press * to display the name which is last.
To display the other stored names, press
* or # until you find the name you are
looking for. Press and hold the key to
scroll the locations. The number of the
memory location in which each
displayed name is stored will appear in
the lower right–hand corner of the
display.

Using The Menu

Select menu level Press FCN (press once for menu A,
twice for menu B or three times for C).
To access menu C, also enter your
[4–digit Lock Code]. Scrolling functions Press * or # (repeatedly) to view the
functions in the selected menu. Scroll and select option Press FCN to scroll the options.
The option (remaining) on the display
will be the one selected. Shortcut facility In any menu level, enter the number of
the menu function required eg, press 5 if
in menu A to reach Ring Vol (F:A5).
Refer to table below for menu function
numbers.
The main menu features available are listed in the table below:

keyboard. Send DTMF F:A8 FCN 8 Selects DTMF tones (in a
call). Recall Last F:A9 FCN 9 Allows you to recall any of
the last (5) numbers
dialled. Menu A/Next Menu F:A0 FCN 0 Provides entry to Menu B. Clear Last F:B1 FCN FCN 1 Sets the last–called
numbers to be cleared or
retained when phone is
