Introduction

Service Manual Structure
The service manual is structured as a series of stand–alone booklets which can be ordered on an as–required basis. The ’core’ service manual consists of the following:
THX–4 series Transceiver booklet
Chapter 1: Foreword Chapter 2: Performance Specifications Chapter 3: Transceiver Overview Chapter 4: System Module Chapter 5: Display Module
Appendix to the Transceiver booklet THX–41/42/43) comprising:

This section of the service manual (the THX–4 series Transceiver booklet) describes those areas of the THX–4 series handportable telephone which are common to all variants. This booklet includes performance specifications; a technical overview of the transceiver plus detailed descriptions of the main modules and associated parts lists.
This document is intended for use by qualified service personnel only.

Cautions:
1. Servicing and alignment must be undertaken by qualified personnel only.
2. Ensure all work is carried out at an anti–static workstation and that an anti–static wrist strap is worn.
3. Ensure solder, wire, or foreign matter does not enter the telephone as damage may result.
4. Use only approved components as specified in the parts list.

5. Ensure all components, modules screws and insulators are correctly re–fitted after servicing and alignment. Ensure all cables and wires are repositioned correctly.
