2,000 Watt Monoblock Power Ampliﬁer

Ordinary ampliﬁers simply do not have enough power to reproduce full-sized live music without running out of power on short transients. The MC2KW is no ordinary ampliﬁer. It has what it takes (8000 watts on musical peaks) to reproduce a full orchestra’s dynamic power without strain or limiting.

The unique design of the MC2KW incorporates three modules separating the power from the output. Each 1000 watt Power Module contains half of the balanced circuitry complete with its own power supply resulting in the double balanced conﬁguration. The Output Module houses the input and output connections, meter and output autoformer and functions as the control center. The signal from the Power Modules enters a doublewound, mirror image output transformer where each kilowatt of power is added canceling noise and distortion.

TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION

0.005% maximum harmonic distortion at any power level from 250 milliwatts to 2000 watts, 20Hz to 20kHz

POWER GUARD

A waveform comparison circuit continuously monitors both input and output signals. Power Guard dynamically adjusts the input level to avoid clipping while preventing harsh sounding distortion.

SENTRY MONITOR

Fuse-less short-circuit protection circuit disengages the output stage before current exceeds safe operating level – resets automatically.

OUTPUT AUTOFORMER

Unique McIntosh technology delivers the full rated ampliﬁer output with the least possible distortion into loudspeaker impedances of 2, 4, or 8 Ohms; you get all the power you paid for and the freedom to choose any loudspeaker.

WATTMETER

Swift, accurate response reveals program peaks so staying within the power limits of your loudspeakers is easy.
