Mc275
vacuum tube power amplifier
In 1949, McIntosh was awarded a patent for its Unity-Coupled output circuit and has been
improving it ever since. The revolutionary circuit design enabled the development of audio
amplifiers that produced the lowest distortion over the widest bandwidth, all without
sacrificing high efficiency.
The venerable MC275, arguably the most sought-after amplifier ever built, was first
launched in 1961 and represented the pinnacle of vacuum tube technology. Commemorative versions, which were popular when released during the 1990s, employed the
amplifier’s original design.
The enhanced performance of the new MC275 is the result of modern design technology
and manufacturing techniques. Old-fashioned point-to-point wiring has been replaced with
glass-epoxy printed circuit boards, developed through computer-aided design, which
ensures lowest noise and highest operational consistency.

The MC275 Series IV delivers 75 watts per
channel into 4, 8, and 16 Ohm speakers.
ULTRA LOW NOISE
AND DISTORTION
Distortion-canceling properties of
McIntosh’s Unity-Coupled circuit and
unique Output Transformer design yield
much lower distortion and noise across
the entire 20-20,000Hz music range.
WIDE BANDWIDTH
McIntosh’s exclusive Output Circuit and
Transformer designs ensure ultra-wide
frequency bandwidth.
MONOBLOCK
The two 75-watt channels may be combined into a single channel of 150 watts
into 2, 4 or 8-Ohm loads.
INVERTED CHASSIS
Heat producing tubes are located
on top of the chassis, under a protective
cage, while other circuits are shielded
within the polished Stainless Steel
Chassis.
