PANORAMA provides greater spaciousness and envelopment for
either music or films. These programs can utilize left and right rear channels but are also effective using only two front loudspeakers.
The CONCERT HALL modes con-
tain two effects: Ambience (Club
and Hall) and Reverb (Cathedral).
The Ambience effect generates the
appropriate early reflections for ste-
reo simulation of rectangular and fan-shaped halls in a variety of sizes. The Reverb effect emphasizes rich, smooth reverberant decay in small, medium or large spaces.
The Surround modes are designed to
make full use of additional loud-
speakers at the center, sides and rear of the room. In MUSIC SURROUND, FULL allows unprocessed music to be played over all your speakers. MUSIC LOGIC is appropriate for any type of music and for stereo films which are not Dolby encoded. STEREO LOGIC envelopes you as though you were on stage with the musicians. The MOVIE SUR- ROUND modes work with film sound tracks to recreate the theater experience. MONO LOGIC expands the music and effects on monaural films. TV MATRIX provides surround effects for TV viewing of monaural, stereo and stereo-synthesized programs. PRO LOGIC should be used during playback of any encoded films or music.

EFFECT: UP and DOWN adjust the level or intensity of effects added by the CP-1.
BALANCE: F and B adjust the levels between the front and the rear of the listener.
BALANCE: L and R adjust the left/right balance of all speakers: front, sides and rear.
VOLUME: UP and DOWN adjust the level of all channels simultaneously.
EFFECTS MUTE turns off any effects added by the CP-1. (Pushing EFFECT MUTE while in system- mute mode turns the effects alone back on.)
Note
To store a modified Preset program, press PARAM until the display reads: MEMORIZE PROGRAM, then press any of the 12 program keys to store all current settings in the corresponding User register. User registers automatically store changes as they are entered.
The CP-1’s User Bank can be cleared and reloaded with duplicates of the factory Preset programs at any time. Turn on the CP-1 while holding down PARAM. Continue to hold down PARAM for several seconds. This puts the unit into TEST mode. Push EFFECT MUTE to clear and reload the User Bank and to restore all initial settings of Volume, Balance, Contrast, Configuration, etc. Push PARAM again to begin normal operation.

The actual angle, or "toe in" of the speakers should be set according to the manufacturer's suggestions.
If you are using only one rear speaker, or a single amplifier channel for the rears, it may be hooked up to either the left or right rear output, as long as you use the correct Configuration number.
Subwoofers are not shown in any of these configurations. Consult the subwoofer owner's manual or your dealer for proper placement of subwoofers.
