Reference Symbols Reference Symbols
Two reference symbols are used to indicate the remainder of the circuit (feed and ground) and refer the reader to one of two preliminary figures.
Reference Flags
This symbol refers the reader to a figure number only. It does not refer to a flag with the same number on a different figure.
As used in figures 1, 2 and 3, the FLAG refers to a figure number where the circuit is continued. In this instance, the reader matches the BOX orDIAMOND numbers to trace the circuit.
In most other cases, it is not necessary to refer to another figure for completion of a circuit. The FLAGS are used to indicate parallel circuits andcircuits which share components. Most of the circuits where this situation occurs are overlapped to avoid the necessity for cross-referencing toanother figure.
Splice Codes

Seat Control Module - Loss of Seat or Mirror Functions - Repair Procedure
MODEL XJS Range 1994 MY VIN 190528 - 192880 DATE 7/95 ISSUE:
Loss of any driver seat adjustment, door mirror adjustment, or any combination of seat and mirror adjustments in 1994 MY XJS Range vehicles fromVIN 190528 - 192880, may be caused by a failure of the seat control module (SCM). If a function fails, it would cause the adjustment that it controls toremain at its last set position. To prevent repeat failure of the SCM, the mirrors must also be replaced. ACTION:
If the seat control module fails on a 1994 MY XJS Range vehicle within the VIN range listed above, BOTH door mirrors must be replaced with revisedmirror units when the SCM is replaced.
: NOTE
A production change within the VIN range added capacitors to the door mirror motors. The capacitors, which were added to reduce radiointerference, may induce an electrical resonance in the mirror circuit causing SCM failure.

ABS Control Module: Description and Operation ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE
The control module processes the signals from the four wheel sensors, converts their frequency information into values which correspond to wheelspeed and then, with the data received, controls the solenoid valves during braking under ABS control.
The control module checks the inputs and output signals in order to indicate a ABS disturbances, a self-monitoring function is integrated in the controlmodule and a ABS warning lamp is illuminated in the case of a system failure.
During ABS control, the respective solenoid valves in the wheel circuit concerned is controlled. The main valve is controlled when a front wheel isunder ABS control. In order to enable the wheel to transmit the optimum brake force under all road conditions, the control of the valves must beoperate very rapidly, up to 6 times a second.
Wiring Diagram
When the ignition is switched on, battery voltage is supplied to pin 2 of the control module which is fed internally to pin 8. From pin 8, the main relaycoil is activated closing the relay contacts. Battery voltage is supplied to pins 3 and 20 of the control module via a 30 amp fuse and the relay contacts, which switches the electronic control module on to start its test routines.
During the test routines, the ABS warning lamp is illuminated. The time the lamp is illuminated depends on the charging of the hydraulicaccumulator. During this testing phase the electronic control module switches the warning lamp from pin 27 to pin 1 of the control module to ground. If the system test routines prove satisfactory the electronic control module opens the ground circuit between pins 1 and 27 of the control module, thecircuit to ground is broken, the warning light is then extinguished. The warning lamp is supplied with battery voltage from the ignition switch whenthe ignition is switched on.

Cruise Control Module: Description and Operation
(SCCM)
The Speed Control Control Module , located behind the fascia, adjacent to the steering column, provides system control and an interface toexternal input signals from the instrument pack, gear selector module, traction control system, control switches, and foot pedal switches. The set speedvalue is retained in SCCM memory and continuously compared to actual vehicle speed. Adjustments are made, as necessary, to maintain set speed bycontrol of the vacuum pump and control valve.

Compressor Clutch Relay: Description and Operation Compressor Clutch Relay
PURPOSE
A/C relay concurrently energizes A/C compressor clutch and supplementary air valve, raising idle speed to compensate for A/C compressor load.
OPERATION
When open, the supplementary air valve permits increased idle air flow to right intake manifold to compensate for A/C compressor load. To adjust forautomatic transmission load, an idle relay switches supplementary air valve "OFF" when either "N" or "P" shift positions are selected.
