Model: DVD-3910
Symptom: Under the following condition, the FL Display on the subject model
remains blinking and the sound is not outputted.
1) Connect the DVD-3910 to an AV Amplifier that is conformable to the IEEE1394 via the IEEE1394 connection, and set to the IEEE1394 mode.
2) Approximately one second after turning off (standby off or turn off the primary side of the Power supply) the Power of the Amplifier that is conformable to the IEEE1394, turn off the Power of the DVD-3910 so that it turns into the Standby­off mode.
3) The IEEE1394 indication on the FL Display of the DVD-3910 remains blinking and the sound is not output when the Power of the DVD-3910 and the Amplifier that is conformable to the IEEE1394 were switched on.
Solution:
Record the supplied file onto a blank CD-R and upgrade your customer's unit upon claim.
Corrected the standby-off process-software in the System MICON.

Note:
• When recording the file on a blank CD-R, the Format shall be "ISO9660" and the Session shall be "CLOSE".
• When recording the file on the CD-R, please record it at the 4-times speed of the normal speed. If the 4 times speed was not available, please record it at the minimum speed that is available in your machine.
• If the file was recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the normal speed, the upgrading may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the CD-R.
• No malfunction occurs if the above program file for upgrading the System MICON was combined and used together with the program file for upgrading the Back-end ROM.
2) Rewriting Procedures of the System MICON by means of the above recorded CD-R: (a) Turn on the Power of the unit. Push the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and open the LOADER. (b) Set the CD-R (Ver.6767-4) for rewriting the System MICON to the LOADER and press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button.
• The LOADER closes and the upgrading of the Software starts automatically.
• After indicating "LOADING" on the FL Display, the Power is turned off once and is turned on again automatically. (c) After indicating "WRITING", "COMPLETE" appears on the FL Display. The LOADER opens automatically when the "COMPLETE" appears and the rewriting completed. Take out the Disc from the LOADER. (d) Turn off the Power of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY" and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons down simultaneously, turn on the Power of the unit. After the " >||" mark was indicated on the FL Display, press numeral buttons "3", "2", "6" and "5" on the Remote Control. The following System MICON's Version appears when the "MENU" button on the Remote Control is pushed four times. Confirm the Version. Indication of the Version: SYSTEM 6767-4
Caution during the rewriting operation:
• Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation.
• When recording the program file for updating on a CD-R, please record it at the 4-times speed of the normal speed. If the 4 times speed was not available, please record it at the minimum speed that is select-able in your machine. If the program file was recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the normal speed, the updating may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the CD-R.
• If the Power was turned off during the rewriting operation, replacement of IC104 on GU-3618 in DVD-3910 (00D GEN6609-9) Flash IC may be required. (refer to OST-867 page-3)
