Canon lenses are used to capture many of the dramatic moments, thrills, and excitement
conveyed to viewers from a wide variety of venues, including international sporting events
held around the world such as soccer matches, baseball games, cricket matches and car
races. Thanks to their superb performance, Canon field lenses have won the overwhelming
support of broadcasting stations, and major OB van companies and production houses
throughout the world who create TV programming featuring such events -- as a result the use
of Canon field lenses continues to expand.
Ultra-telephoto field lenses with exceptional optical performance, ultra-high-magnification
and excellent image stabilization functionality needed to capture the quick and sudden
movements that characterize programming such as live relays of sporting events are in high
demand. Canon’s flagship field lens model, the XJ100x9.3B, provides this functionality as
part of its standard feature set because it was developed with precisely such demanding
applications in mind. The advanced optical performance of the XJ100x9.3B makes it possible
to capture dramatic moments with powerful super close-ups, and its state-of-the-art image
stabilization functionality effectively suppresses vibrations from wind or movement on the field
to deliver stunningly beautiful images free of blurring.
Canon is constantly pursuing new technological advances to create revolutionary new
products so that people all over the world can experience the drama and excitement of the
sporting events they love.
Main Features
Incorporates an advanced image stabilizer, a formidable ally of cameramen everywhere for
mitigating vibration of all kinds, as a standard function.
The image stabilizer feature by Canon has been faithfully used over the years
at many of the world’s highest-prole sporting events, and is now considered a
must when shooting sports. With the XJ100x9.3B, a more advanced version of
Canon’s image stabilizer has been incorporated as a standard feature.
With a new sensor and sped-up control circuit, this latest version of the image
stabilizer signicantly curbs vibration, particularly in the high-frequency range.
By successfully suppressing all kinds of vibration, such as that generated by wind
and excited fans in the stands, the XJ100x9.3B’s image stabilizer allows the capture
of stable, clear video even at super-telephoto range. It also makes camerawork a
comfortable endeavor by largely mitigating the “aftershock” phenomenon that occurs
when an image moves after the camera operator stops panning.
The XJ100x9.3B, XJ95x and XJ80x eld lenses all feature the same image stabilizer
in their standard feature set, allowing them to deliver stable, beautiful images.
