Einleitung
Der Kontrabaß-Steg DB-1 wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Musikern auf der Bühne und im Studio für die direkte Schallabnahme am Kontrabaß konzipiert. Der Steg bietet professionelle akustische Übertragungsqualität und garantiert uneingeschränkte Bewegungsfreiheit auf der Bühne, da das ständige Ausrichten des Instrumentes zu einem externen Mikrofon wegfällt. Das Wegfallen von Stativen und Adaptern verringert weiters den Arbeitsaufwand beim Transport sowie beim Aufbau auf der Bühne.
Anwendung
Der Kontrabaß-Steg DB-1 ist wie ein konventioneller Baßsteg zu verwenden. Das Abnahmesystem muß mit Universal-Phantomspeisung (9–52 V nach DIN 55596) entweder über das Mischpult oder mittels externem Phantomspeisegerät (AKG B18) versorgt werden. DB-1 B-lock muß mittels B 29 versorgt werden.

Montage
Der Kontrabaß-Steg DB-1 wird gleich einem konventionellen Steg ohne integrierten Tonabnahmesystem dem Instrument angepaßt und montiert. Sollten Sie über die dafür notwendigen Werkzeuge sowie Fachkenntnis nicht verfügen, empfehlen wir, den Steg bei Ihrem Geigenbauer wie gewohnt einbauen zu lassen. Beim Einbau ist lediglich zu beachten, daß das Kabel nicht geknickt oder beschädigt wird. Weiters sollte die Einfräsung für die Saiten auf keinen Fall unter die Markierungslinie ragen, da sonst das Tonabnahmesystem verletzt wird.
Der Steg verfügt über genügend Materialreserven, sodaß er für alle üblichen Saitenlagen adaptiert werden kann.

Introduction
The double-bass bridge DB-1 was designed in co-opera- tion with musicians on the stage and in the studio, for direct sound take-off from a double-bass. The bridge offers professional acoustic transmission quality and guarantees unrestricted freedom of movement on the stage, since the constant alignment of the instrument to an external microphone is no longer necessary. Furthermore, because tripods and adaptors are no longer need-
ed, the work involved in transport and in preparing the stage is also reduced.
Operation
The double-bass bridge DB-1 is used like a normal bass bridge. The transmitting system must be supplied with universal phantom supply (9–25 V to DIN 45596), either from the mixing console or by means of an external phantom supply device (AKG B18; B29 for DB-1 B-lock).

Installation
The double-bass bridge DB-1 is fitted and installed on the instrument in the same way as a conventional bridge without an integrated sound transmission system. If you do not possess the necessary tools and specialist knowledge, we recommend you have the bridge installed by your violin-maker in the usual way. Care must simply be taken that the lead is not kinked or damaged. In addition, the slots for the strings should on no account extend past the marked line, otherwise the sound transmitting system will be damaged.
The bridge has adequate material in reserve so that it can be adapted for all the usual string arrangements.
