Introduction

This guide provides keypad operating information for the MC3000 mobile computer with the 19-key mechanical keypad. All other operating instructions are provided in the MC3000 User Guide, p/n 72-E-68899-xx, and the MC3000 Integrator Guide, p/n 72E-68900-xx.

Turning the Mobile Computer On and Off

Simultaneously press the and computer on and off.

Booting the Mobile Computer

To perform a warm boot:
1. Press and hold the and keys and then press the and
keys.
2. As soon as the mobile computer starts to perform a warm boot
release the keys.
To perform a cold boot:
1. Press and hold the and keys and then press the and
keys.
2. Release the keys. The mobile computer performs a cold boot.

Keypad Description

The table below lists the default functions of each key. The functionality of the keys can be re-mapped, see Keypad Mapping on page 5.
Key Description
Menu Produces the lower case alphabetic f.
Turns the mobile computer on and off when simultaneously pressed with the down arrow key. See
Booting the Mobile Computer on page 3
and cold boot procedures.
GoTo Produces the lower case alphabetic e.
Alphabetic Produces the lower case alphabetic l, d and p
characters.
Numeric Produces numerics 0 through 9.

C Produces a backspace.
Scroll Up and Down Moves up and down from one item to another.
Increases/decreases specified values.
