The Tycos Hook Cuff is made of lightweight, sturdy fabric with stainless steel ribs and buttons for a snug fit. Welch Allyn provides a nylon strap on the larger cuffs for secure attachment of the Tycos Pocket Aneroid Gauge.

The Tycos Hook Cuff is made of lightweight, sturdy fabric with stainless steel ribs and buttons for a snug fit. Welch Allyn provides a nylon strap on the larger cuffs for secure attachment of the Tycos Pocket Aneroid Gauge.

How to Use the Cuff

1. Hold the end of the cuff containing the inflation bag firmly against the inside of the bare upper arm and position the artery symbol over the brachial artery.
If this does not quite reach, hook “button-hole” AA over button BB, which is the next larger adjustment “5/8” larger)
1. Hold the end of the cuff containing the inflation bag firmly against the inside of the bare upper arm and position the artery symbol over the brachial artery.
2. Pull the opposite end of the cuff snugly around the arm, and with the left thumb in the position shown in Figure 2, hook metal “button-hole” A over metal button B.
If this does not quite reach, hook “button-hole” AA over button BB, which is the next larger adjustment “5/8” larger)
Place the tip of your middle finger of your right hand immediately over the “button’hole”. This allows you to hook the cuff by touch alone.
To hook the cuff properly, slide the edge of “button-hole” A underneath the overhanging top of button B, as in Figure 3.

There are eight ribs, each with its metal “button-hole” (See Figure 1), you can hook any one over either of the two metal buttons. This results in sixteen different adjustments

3. Completely deflate the armband to avoid difficulty in unhooking the cuff. To remove cuff from arm, press thumb against metal button BB as shown in Figure 2, and pull tail end of cuff toward thumb until “button-hole” disengages from button.
4. When using the cuff with the Tycos Pocket Aneroid, fold it in a manner to protect the gauge.
