HALion Player vs HALion 3
HALion Player has a much reduced User Interface compared to HALion, for example it lacks HALions Browser, Waveloop-, Keyzone- and Modulation-setup Editor. Though HALion Player can load even the most complex HALion 3 Programs, the creation of complete new Programs is limited to the present basic sound parameters. This is just fine, as HALion Player is targeted towards existing Library Users and Sampling beginners.
HALion Player supports loading native HALion Content in fxp /fxb / HSB format and Import of Wav / AIF / Rex / Rex2 / Zgr files, while HALion allows importing almost every Sample Format available.
HALion Player allows only restricted access to sound shaping Parameters via Q-Controls (up to 8 per program - pre-defined in HALion
3.1). If no pre-defined Parameters are present HALion Player defaults to the most basic Parameters like cutoff, resonance and envelope settings, for example for imported Samples. Q-Control target parameters can be changed only in HALion, not in HALion Player.
