Compression plates 18 x 24 and 24 x 30 2
1. Check for the compression plate alignment.
Make sure that chestwall side of compression plate does not
extend beyond the edge of the bucky table by more than 2 mm. If
the compression plate extend more than 2 mm from the edge of
the bucky table, the compression plate must be reinstalled or
replaced.
2. Place the stencil (Fig. 1) insi de the compression plate (Fig. 2).

3. Position the compression plate so that the bottom of the compression plate is
about 6 cm above the bucky table.
4. Using the object illuminator light , position the stencil so that t he flat side of the first
detector position at the chestwall side is aligned with the detector po sition on the
bucky table.
5. Raise or lower the position of compressi on plate using the foot pedal if necessar y.
6. Center the detector position by adjust ing the stencil right or left.
Make sure that the position of the image superimposed on the
bucky table does not change when the compression height is
changed.
7. Tape the stencil to the compression pl ate with masking tape.
Shake the marker before use. Make some test drawings to learn
how the marker works before using it on the compression plates.
To achieve a lasting result, repeat the trace pr ocedure a couple of
times.
Be careful not to smear.
8. Trace the stencil´s detector posi tions on to the compression plate by using a
permanent fine-tipped marker. Each compress ion plate requires two detector
positions only. See the arrows on th e stencil to determine the correct pos itions
according to the format size.

9. Remove the stencil.
Wait until the markings have dried in, before usi ng the compression plates.
10. Repeat step 1 - 9 above for all 18 x 24 and 24 x 30 compression plates.
11. Repeat the procedure when the markings have faded after a while .
