Safety precautions
Note for parents
Read the operating instructions and safety precautions carefully before use. Explain the content to your children and the hazards associated with using the phone.
When in a hospital switch off your phone. Mobile phones can interfere with the functioning of medical devices such as hearing aids or pacemakers. Keep at least 20cm/9 inches between the phone and pacemaker. When using the mobile phone hold it to the ear which is further away from the pacemaker. For more information consult your doctor.
Always use the handsfree kit for calls while driving (p. 83).
Mobile phones must be switched off at all times in an aircraft. To prevent accidental activation, see p. 66.
Switch off near petrol stations, fuel depots, chemical plants or blasting operations. Mobile phones can interfere with the operation of technical installations.
SIM card may be removed. Caution! Small parts could be swallowed by children.
The main voltage (V) specified on the power supply unit must not be exceeded.
The ringtone (p. 53), info tones (p. 55) and handsfree talking are reproduced through the loudspeaker. Do not hold the phone to your ear when it rings or when you have switched on the handsfree function (p. 19). You otherwise risk serious, permanent damage to your hearing.
Only use original Siemens batteries (100% mercury-free) and charging devices. You otherwise risk serious damage to health and property: the battery could explode, for instance.
You may only open the phone to replace the battery (100% mercury-free), front and back covers, keypad or SIM card. You must not open the battery under any circumstances. Any other changes to this device are strictly prohibited, as they will invalidate the guarantee.
3
4
Please note:
Safely dispose of used batteries and phones according to the legal regulations.
Mobile phones can interfere with the operation of nearby TVs, radios or PCs.
Only use original Siemens accessories as the only way to avoid possible damage to health and property and to comply with the existing regulations.
Improper use invalidates the warranty!

Most service providers offer you an external answering service. In this mailbox, a caller may leave a voice message for you
• if your phone is switched off or not ready to receive,
• if you do not want to answer calls,
• if you are making a phone call (and if Call waiting is not active, p. 57).
If the voice mail service is not part of your service provider's user package, you will need to register for it and the settings must be made manually. The procedure described below may vary slightly depending on the service provider.
