Read the instructions, keep them safe. Pass them on if you pass the sandwich toaster on. Remove all packaging before use.

A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Follow basic safety precautions, including:

1The sandwich toaster must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and store it out of reach of children.

2Don’t use raw meat of any kind in the sandwich toaster. All fillings must be safe and fit to eat before they are used in the sandwich toaster.

3Don’t put the sandwich toaster in liquid, don’t use it in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.

4Don’t touch hot parts – use the handles.

5Sit the sandwich toaster on a stable, level, heatproof (not just heat-resistant) surface.

6Bread, oil, and other foods may burn. Don’t use the sandwich toaster near or below curtains or other combustible materials, and watch it while in use.

7Route the cable so it doesn’t overhang, and can’t be tripped over or caught.

8Don’t wrap food in plastic film, polythene bags, or metal foil. You’ll damage the sandwich toaster, and you may cause a fire hazard.

9Keep the sandwich toaster and the cable away from hotplates, hobs or burners.

10Unplug the sandwich toaster when not in use, before moving and before cleaning. 11 Don’t use the sandwich toaster for any purpose other than toasting sandwiches. 12 Don’t fit attachments or accessories unless we supply them.

13 This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or remote control system. 14 Don’t use the sandwich toaster if it’s damaged or malfunctions.

15 If the cable is damaged, return the sandwich toaster, to avoid hazard.

C PREPARATION

1 Sit the sandwich toaster on a stable, level, heatproof (not just heat-resistant) surface.

2Don’t use the sandwich toaster near or below curtains or other combustible materials, and watch it while in use.

3Route the cable so it doesn’t overhang, and can’t be tripped over or caught.

4Put the plug into the power socket (switch the socket on, if it’s switchable).

5The power-on light (red) will glow as long as the sandwich toaster is connected to the electricity supply.

6The ready light (green) will glow when the elements reach the correct cooking temperature, then cycle on and off with the thermostat.

7Wait till the ready light (green) glows before starting to cook.

TTOASTING SANDWICHES/MAKING TOASTIES

8Use about a dessertspoon of filling per sandwich. Too much will ooze out.

94 slices of bread makes 4 sandwiches – fresh medium-sliced bread is best.

10Cut the bread to overlap the plates by 0.5cm all round.

11 Spread butter/margarine thinly on each slice.
