RSP 1098 Software Updates Release Notes

V1.0.0 to V1.1.0

- Allowed a press of the function knob on front panel to power unit on from Standby.

- Software relating to the MP3 decoding was changed.

- Test Tone level reduced from -23dbfs to -30dbfs per Dolby spec.

- Fixed lack of video output error when Progressive=Yes, OSD Output=Screen Only

for Display settings.

V1.1.0 to V1.1.1

- Changed the Progressive Yes/No settings to now be assignable to specific video
inputs. Composite and S-Video upconversion is available on all video inputs not
using the Progressive = Yes setting.

V1.1.1 to V1.1.2

- Modified the German OSD with the following additions of dots:

1. DFLT MODUS => DFLT. MODUS

2. WERKSVOREINSTELL => WERKSVOREINSTELL.

V1.1.2 to V1.1.4

- Changed the default Power setting from Direct to Standby mode.

- Corrected a bug where there was no CB output in Dolby or dts when Advanced

Speaker settings used.

- Corrected some terms for the Italian, German, and French languages.

- Adjusted CB levels for DTS ES Matrix surround mode.

- Corrected a bug causing no CB output when in DTS ES Discrete mode.

- Improved decoding of Dolby Digital mono soundtracks.

- Improved 12 volt trigger assignment to allow fully independent 12V operation with
both main and second zones. Refer to the Technical Updates section for more

Units running v1.xx software cannot install V2.xx software without EPROM

- Added Dolby Pro Logic IIx format

- Changed contour setting to make any contour adjustments made via the Tone

button on the remote a temporary adjustment. Permanent contour adjustments can
be made via the Contour menu on the OSD.

- Added the option to turn off the TFT display. This is done by either accessing the
DISPLAY OPTIONS menu or pressing the Display button on the front panel and
changing the OSD OUTPUT setting to Monitor Only.

- The last used 6.1/7.1 surround mode for each format (Dolby Digital, dts) is now
saved and used as the default 6.1/7.1 mode each time this format disc is used.

V2.1.3 to V2.1.4

- Added Dolby Pro Logic II Game Mode.

- Dolby Pro Logic II Emulation changed to Dolby Pro Logic.

- Improved volume speed in both main Zone and Zone 2 via remote control.

- Added User Default Password feature. NOTE: The default password is ‘0000’.

- Added Factory Default confirmation screen to the OSD.

- Updated 7CH Stereo DSP mode’s center back channel outputs from mono to stereo

(requires EPROM flash ROMUpdate4 for this update. If you do not use 7CH stereo
this EPROM flash is not required for further updates.)

- Minor position adjustments made to some OSD characters.
