Precautions Concerning the Use of a Connected Keyboard
If the VP-7 is unable to successfully receive any performance data from a MIDI keyboard that you’ve connected to it, check to make sure that the channel that the VP-7 is set to use for MIDI reception is the same channel that your MIDI keyboard is using for transmission. Or, you could simply set the VP-7 to OMNI.
• When the unit left the factory, it was set so that only the data arriving on MIDI channel 1 would be received.
• If you want to receive data on some other channel, enter the mode for setting the MIDI reception channel and specify the desired channel.
• If you want to receive data on a multiple number of channels, set the MIDI reception channel to OMNI.
* The MIDI indicator will always light upon reception of any MIDI data, regardless of the channel upon which the data is received.
