Kinetix 6000M Fuse Replacement Kit

Catalog Number 2094-SEPM-FUSE

About the Fuse Replacement Kit

The Kinetix® 6000M Integrated Drive-Motor (IDM) system has a pair of internal fuses for short-circuit protection of the DC bus in the IDM Power Interface Module (IPIM).
The fuse replacement kit contains six Bussmann FWP-50A14Fa fuses.
Replace both fuses in the fuse holder at the same time. The power surge that opens one fuse may have stressed and weakened the second fuse.
IPIM Fuse Location
Follow these steps to replace the fuse pair in an IPIM module.
ATTENTION: Capacitors on the DC bus retain hazardous voltages after input power has been removed. Before working on the IDM system, measure the DC bus voltage to verify it has reached a safe level or wait the full time interval as indicated in the warning on the front panel of the IPIM module.
1. Remove all control and input power supplied to the Kinetix 6000M system.
2. Wait the full time interval specified in the warning on the front panel of the IPIM
Failure to observe this precaution could result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.
module before proceeding with the next step.
3. Remove the IPIM module from the Bulletin 2094 power rail to access its side panels.

, for more information.
4. Remove the fuse holder from the IPIM module.
a. Loosen the two captive Phillips screws that secure the fuse holder in the IPIM
module. Refer to the IPIM Fuse Location
diagram.
Approximately three revolutions of the screwdriver are necessary to loosen the captive screws and permit removal of the fuse holder.
b. Grasp the two vertical tabs midway across the fuse holder and pull the fuse holder
straight out from the IPIM module.
5. Replace both fuses in the fuse holder with Bussmann FWP-50A14Fa fuses.
Verify the fuse contacts are centered and securely mounted in the fuse clips.
6. Reinstall the fuse holder in the IPIM module by pushing the fuse holder straight into the IPIM opening, and then torque the captive screws to 0.5…0.7 Nm (4…6 lbin) to fully seat and secure the fuse holder.
7. Replace the IPIM module in its slot on the Bulletin 2094 power rail.
