INTRODUCTION
Your Radio Shack RF Modulator is designed to con­vert the separate audio and video signals (from a vid­eo camera, computer, portable VCR, satellite receiver, etc.) into normal VHF TV si gnals that you can see on any regular TV set.
THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW
This device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules. Op­eration is subject to the following conditions:
• This device may not cause harmful interference.
• This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operat ion.
Your RF Modulator might cause TV or radio interfer­ence even when it is operating properl y. To determi ne whether your RF Modulator is causing the interfer­ence, turn i t off . I f the inter ferenc e go es away, your RF Modulator is causing the interferenc e.

Try to eliminate the interference by:
• Moving your RF Modulator away from the r eceiver .
• Connecting your RF Modulato r to an outlet th at is on a differe nt el ectrical circ uit from the receiver.
• Contacting your local Radio Shack store for help.
If you cannot el iminate the int erference, the FCC requires that you stop using your RF Modulator.
Modifying or tampering with your RF Modulat or’ s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invali­date the RF Modulator’s warranty and void your FCC au­thorization to operate it. If your RF Modulator is not performing as i t should, take it to your loc al Radi o Shack store for assistance.

PARTS REQUIRED
You need the following items, not supplied with your RF Modulator, to connect it between a video input source (video camera, satellite receiver, etc.) and your TV.
• Two audio/video (not stereo) shielded cables with
phono connectors
• Two 75-ohm coaxial cables with F-type connectors
• If your TV does not have a VHF 75-ohm F-connec-
tor, you will also need a 75-ohm-to-300-ohm match­ing transformer
Your local Radio Shack sells a wide selection of each of these items.
Note to CATV Installer:
This reminder is pro vided t o c all the CAT V sys tem inst al l­er’s attention to article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular speci­fies that the ca ble ground sh all be conne cted to the build ­ing’s groundi ng system, as close as practical t o the point where the cable enters the house.

Follow these steps to connect your RF Modulator.
1. Connect an audio/video cable between the video output jack on your video source and the RF Modu-

3. Connect the 75-ohm coaxi al cables to the RF Modu­lator following these guidelines:
• If your TV is already connected to another VHF
input source (such as cable TV, VCR, etc.):

the TV’s 75-ohm VHF input terminal, and recon­nect it to the RF Modulator’s

4. Plug the RF Modulator’s power cord into a standard AC outlet.

OPERATION
1. Turn on the TV and set it to either channel 3 or 4, whichever of the two is not used for regular broad­casts in your area.
2. Set the RF Modulator’s same channel you set on the TV (3 or 4).
