[1]The firmware renewal directions document of Ver1.065
1: The limitation item that firmware is related to the way of rewriting it
Firmware to mention in this directions document is based on the upgrade from the following firmware version [ how to
rewrite it ].
B:1023 (Boot : Ver1.023)
Firmware after the renewal becomes the following version.
B:1024 (Boot : Ver1.024)
U:1065 (Executive:Ver1.065)
2: How to rewrite firmware
A part Boot must be Ver1.023 so that it may be upgraded in Ver1.065 from the firmware of the above version.
Confirm the version of the part Boot before the renewal surely.
(Refer to 2-5 clauses for the way of confirming it.)
A body part is written by putting rom4856b.bin and rom4856s.bin in romw_b folder of the renewal card, and it can be
hatched.
A process is shown in the following.
2-1:
rom4856b.bin and rom4856s.bin are put in romw_b folder of the renewal card.
There is no limitation specially as for the renewal card if it is SmartMedia that use is possible with C-1.
2-2:
An AC adapter is connected, and a renewal card is loaded after a battery is taken out from the camera and Cover Lens is
closed.
2-3:
Cover Lens is opened with pushing OK button.
OK button can be left if this is confirmed because orange LED beside Finder becomes lighting condition when renewal
is started.
2-4:
Orange LED goes off when renewal is finished normally.
When LED went off, go to 2-5 and keep conected an AC adapter.
If it fails, buzzer rings with orange LED blinking three times. (Orange LED lasts blinking.)
As for the measure when renewal fails, it is mentioned later. (The following 2-6 clauses)

2-5:
Cover Lens is closed for a while, and Cover Lens is opened under the condition that Cover Card is opened.
It is the place where the warning of CARD-COVER OPEN is indicated on the TFT screen, and a simultaneous push does
DISPLAY button and OK button.
When it doesn't react to Cover Lens open and close at this time, after (When warning indication isn't done in TFT.) stands
by for about 10 seconds, again, Cover Lens open and close is done.
It confirms that it is indicated as follows because version indication is done when Button Shutter is pushed with 1st, 2nd
and the top button is pushed on the cursor key more after it continued and a cursor key was pushed in the right order of
the top

2-6:
When left button is pushed more, damage indication is made under this condition.
Damage indication is indicated with four-digit hexadecimal digit (damage code) after "D:".

D. REPAIR PROCEDURE
Only "D:" is indicated at the time of the one without damage.
Damage information is erased when TFT becomes the indication of only "D:" and Cover Lens is closed under this
condition more when OK button is pushed under the condition that damage indication is made.
Do the above elimination operation when four-digit damage code is indicated by the damage indication in the one after
"D :".
2-7:
The measure when firmware renewal fails
2-7-1:
When renewal fails, a card is taken out under the condition that an AC adapter is removed for a while, and the contact
part (gold-plating part) of the card is lightly wiped by the cleaning paper and so on, and a card is loaded with the camera
again, and it tries it from the above 2-2 again [ the renewal ].
2-7-2:
It is exchanged for the renewal card with another renewal actual results, and it tries it again [ the renewal ] when it is
rewritten and it fails even if it tries it again.
When it still fails, firmware is written, and that camera is made impossibility goods.
3: One's personal history in the firmware renewal
Confirm it about the following point, and leave that information as a personal history as for the problem which occurred at
the time of the firmware renewal.
Did you remove an AC adapter [ bitter orange LED light continuation forcibly ] for more than one minute after renewal
started?

Was buzzer sound (with Pea, Pea, Pea, Pea, usually, four times pronunciation) entailed when bitter orange LED went on
and off when renewal was finished?
4: About the damage indication
Damage indication can be done by the following operation.
An AC adapter is connected, and Cover Lens is closed, and Cover Lens is opened under the condition that Cover Card is
opened.
It is the place where the warning of CARD-COVER OPEN is indicated on the TFT screen, and a simultaneous push does
DISPLAY button and OK button.
Damage indication is done when Button Shutter is pushed with 1st, 2nd and left button of the cursor key is pushed more
after it continued and a cursor key was pushed in the right order of the top
Damage indication is indicated with four-digit hexadecimal digit after "D".
Damage information is erased when OK button is pushed under the condition that damage indication is made and
Cover Lens is closed.
