NAD T 572 User Manual

DVD changers are often looked at as mere convenience products where performance, be it video or audio, is regarded as of secondary importance. NAD believes that convenience and performance do not mutually exclude each other and the T 572 DVD/CD changer is excellent proof of this thinking.
Features and Circuitry
The NAD T 572 can hold up to 5 DVDs or CDs or a mix of the two. Unlike most DVD changers, the T 572 will perform true random play when loaded with conventional CDs. You can select between three different random modes: Play 1 disc randomly and stop, play each disc entirely until all discs have been played (great for classical music), or play 2 songs from each disc successively until all songs have been played.
Besides playing back conventional CDs and DVDs, the NAD T 572 will also play back CD-Rs and CD -RWs even those encoded with MP-3 music files. As each CD-R or CD -RW can hold up to 10 hours of MP-3 encoded music, the T 572 can play up to 50 hours of music uninterrupted, without ever hearing the same song twice! More significantly, the MP-3 decoding uses the same fine DACs and associated circuitry used for CD playback or 2-channel mixdown of surround material. The sound quality is far above what one would expect from MP-3. The T 572 offers an opportunity to take MP-3 music outside of the computer environment and play it back where music belongs, in a dedicated surround sound system.
With NAD's formidable reputation for sound quality and applying the same skills used for our award-winning CD players, it is no surprise that the T 572 provides excellent performance when playing back your existing CD collection. HDCD decoder, true 96kHz/24 bit Crystal DAC for the analogue output channels; low-noise Burr-Brown op-amps and associated analogue circuitry are all part of the T 572's impressive component specification. The resulting sound quality is far superior over that of many "High-End" AV receiver's or processor's built-in DACs and circuitry (most of which do not support HDCD decoding anyway).
Equal attention has been paid to the video performance capabilities:
Keeping signal paths short and direct to minimise any interference, the 4 x 10 bit 54MHz Video DACs are capable of reproducing the finest of picture details, where black is truly black and with vivid colours extremely faithful to the original.
The Component Video outputs (Y, Cr, Cb) sports Progressive Scan to get the most out of the latest high-end digital video monitors and projectors with significantly increased resolution when compared to standard, interlaced video. For video displays without Component Video input, the SCART (which supports RGB) and S-Video connectors offer superior video performance.
By use of an intuitive On-Screen-Display the T 572 is easy to set up and operate. Besides superb performance, the NAD T 572 also offers a wide range of facilities such as Multi-Angle*; Multi-Sound*; Multi-Subtitle*; Frame; Zoom and Repeat. All these facilities can be easily accessed with the supplied remote control. On top of the traditional functions like Play, Stop, Skip, the front panel also includes Cursor control buttons so that the T 572 can still be operated for the most important functions when the remote control is not readily available.
Flexibility
The NAD T 572 comes with ample connection flexibility: With both an optical and coaxial digital output, interfacing to an AV surround sound receiver or processor will be easy. It will be difficult to find a video display to which the T 572 can not connect, choose either Video Composite, S-Video, Component or SCART (with full RGB signal).
For home-automation and custom install purposes, the T 572 can be switched On and to Stand-by remotely by 12 volt trigger.
At NAD we believe that performance in sound is equally important as video. If you are looking for excellent picture quality but also superior music playback, the NAD T 572 should be on your short list.
