Getting to Know Your Phone 1.2 Megapixel Camera/Video
Turning Phone On
• Press and Hold Power Key O for 2 seconds, may take up to 4 seconds for display to illuminate

Making a call
• Dial number and press N
Install Micro SD Memory Card
• The memory card slot is under the battery door next to the SIM Card location.
• Simply push the card into the slot until it clicks into place, with gold contacts facing down.
Note: Do not remove your memory card while your phone is using it or writing files on it.
Note to Cingular customers: The memory card has been pre-installed in your V3i for your convenience.

Take a Picture
• Open flip > Press M > My Stuff > Camera
• Press the S to Capture Photo
• Press Store to save the photo or apply as a wallpaper, screensaver, or send in a message
Record a Video
• Open flip > Press M > My Stuff > Video Camera
• Press Capture to start the video
• Press Stop when finished
• Press Store only to store the video
Playback a Video after Recording
• Open flip > Press M > My Stuff > Videos > scroll and select clip > Play

Connecting your phone to your desktop and transfer music
• Connect phone using inbox data cable
• Desktop will recognize new hardware (phone screen will say “Do Not Disconnect”)
• Mobile Phone Setup Assistant will appear. This will prompt you to give a name to your phone which creates a new folder.
Note: If this box does not appear right away, check to ensure the hardware is recognized by your PC. Then close the iTunes desktop software and re-open again with the phone still connected.

Installing iTunes® to your desktop
Before you can download songs to your phone, you must install iTunes on your computer.

• Place the iTunes CD-ROM (provided in the box with your phone) into your computer’s CD-ROM drive or visit www.itunes.com on your computer to download the latest iTunes desktop software.
• Follow the prompts to install the software.
• When the installation finishes, you will receive an Installation Successful notice, click Finish, double-click the iTunes icon on your desktop to open iTunes.

Play music on your phone
• Press Music Key .
• Search music by playlist, artist, album, songs or shuffle.
• Scroll up/down and Press center S to select.
• Right soft key pauses music and red End key exits the music player.
Answering a call while playing music
• When a call comes in, your music will pause to ring and show caller ID
- Answer: press left soft key. When done, press red End key. Music will be paused and press the ”up” arrow to continue play.
- Ignore: press right soft key to send a call into voicemail. Playback will resume automatically.
• Phone icon will appear on the left side of iTunes in the “Source” section.
• Click on your phone folder. It may already contain some songs that iTunes suggested or you can click and drag music into that folder. You can also “autofill” music from another folder. You have up to 512 MB or 100 songs, which ever comes first.
• Watch desktop status bar at the top of the iTunes desktop to know when the sync is complete and it is ok to disconnect your phone. Allow the sync process to take approximately 10 minutes for every 25 songs.
Note: Make sure your phone is fully charged before you sync.

Instant Messaging
If you use Instant Messaging on the desktop, continue to keep in touch by taking your IM with you while on the go. If you have AOL®, Yahoo!®or ICQ®, then you can still get IM messages while mobile.
Get Set Up
• Open flip > Press + IM
• Select “New Account”
• Choose IM provider: AIM®, Yahoo!®, ICQ
®
• Enter screen name and press “ok”
• Enter password and press “ok”
• Your account will be stored on the phone in the IM menu for use
Sign On
• Open flip > Press + IM to access IM account
• Select established IM account and press right soft key + to sign on
• Icon will appear on the top of the standby screen to show that you are logged in
Note: When logged into IM on your phone, you will be disconnected from your desktop IM client.
Have a Conversation
• Sign on to your IM provider
• Go to buddy list to see who’s available online
• Highlight a name and press right soft key + to “send IM”
Receive IM on your Phone
• When a new message arrives, a dialog bubble will appear on the top of the standby screen and you will also receive an alert letting you know who sent you a message

Pair with Headset
• Press the headset call button for 6 to 10 seconds until blue indicator light comes on. Follow the remainder of the Bluetooth Pairing instructions that came with the device.
• On the phone press M > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link > Handsfree > [Look for Devices]
• If Scan Results are successful, scroll and Select your device > Yes to pair
• Enter the pass key of 0000 and press OK
Note: When the headset is successfully paired with the phone, the blue indicator light changes from steady to flashing.
Note: Set up instructions may vary by Bluetooth headset. Check your users manual for more detailed instructions.
No wires for handsfree access – headsets and in-car Headset
• The headset must be charged for two hours prior to starting
• The headset must be paired with the phone before it can be used. Please see the Bluetooth Pairing Instructions that came with the headset
• Bluetooth must be turned On in the phone (see the following steps)
Turn Bluetooth Power On in Phone
• The phone’s Bluetooth feature is off by default
• Press M > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link > Setup > scroll to Power: > Press Change and Select On
• To continue on with pairing press Back and Select Handsfree and follow the instructions on the next page
