DESCRIPTION:
The cable release pin does not engage or
disengage properly, or the cable is broken. Make
sure the cable is not out of adjustment before
replacing it. Refer to the two illustrations showing
“Incorrect” and “Correct” engagement.
ADJUSTING THE CABLE
1. Remove the plastic cover 7516801and
slide it down the cable.

2. Remove the retaining ring 3232202 from
the pivot arm housing.
3. Pull the cable assembly out from the back
of the housing.
4. Loosen the jam nut behind the cableadjusting pin, and then rotate it
counterclockwise approximately 2-3
revolutions.
5. Position and hold the cable assembly
back into the pivot arm housing and check
for proper adjustment.
6. When the cable pin is properly operating,
then remove the cable from the pivot arm housing and tighten the jam nut.
7. Position the plastic cover back on the cable, and then reinstall the cable pin back into the pivot arm housing.
8. Secure with a new internal retaining ring 3232202.
9. Snap the plastic cover back into place.

REPLACING THE CABLE
1. See step 1 on previous page.
2. See step 2 on previous page.
3. See step 3 on previous page.
4. Loosen the jam nut behind the cable-adjusting pin and
remove the slotted adjustable cable housing from the cable
assembly. Save the cable adjustment housing for reuse with
the new cable.
5. Use a soft rubber mallet to remove the end cap at the
bottom of the press arm and also to avoid damaging the plastic.
6. Remove the retaining ring 3232405 that holds the handle
in place.
7. Pull adjustment handle out of the arm.
8. Remove adjustment cam from inside of the arm.
9. Remove snap ring 3232403 at the end of the cable inside
the arm where the cam was just removed.
10. Remove the tie rod end that is attached to the arm and
pull the cable clips off.
11. Pull the old cable out of the arm from the hole at the top of
the arm.
