The Standard Remote
1. The Effects
These buttons should have
been customized by your installler to load the following
effects:
NIGHTCLUB — for intimate
listening of any type of music.
CONCERT HALL — for largescale, orchestral music..
MUSIC SURROUND — for
any type of music – and an
interesting way to listen to stereo films which are not surround encoded.
TELEVISION — provides surround effects for television
viewing. If you think the program material may be surround encoded, try pressing
MOVIES.
MOVIES — designed for any
movies, music, or television
programs which are surround
sound encoded.
2. Balance
These buttons move the
sound between your front and
surround speakers.
3. Input
Each of these buttons selects an
Input source (TV, CD, VCR,
etc.) These sources will have
been assigned and named during installation — and may also
have been programmed to automatically engage specific effects.
Your system should already be set up and ready to use. Simply
turn your system on and decide what source you want to play
(TV, VCR, etc.) Once you have selected your source material,
turn on the CP-3

These buttons adjust the overall volume of your system –

MAIN MUTE turns off all outputs. Pressing again will restore normal operation. (It is
possible to change VOLUME
while the system is muted –
check this before you turn the
mute off again.)
EFX MUTE allows you to listen
to the source material without

Selecting an Input
The display should show
brief Copyright and customization messages, then the
current effect. A typical example might look like this:

During installation, each of
the four Input buttons (3) on
the Standard remote will
have been assigned to load
one of your audio/video
sources. (See the reverse
side of this card for these
assignments.)
Alternatively, holding any of
the Input buttons displays
the name of the source assigned to that Input. Press
Input 1 and hold the button
down. The display should
now show:

COMPACT DISC*
* or other name such as VCR, TV, etc. assigned by your installer
When you release the button,
the display will show the current effect.
With an input selected, you
can press any of the effect
buttons (1) to listen to a different effect.
Adjust VOLUME (5) and BALANCE (2) to maximize the effect at your listening position.
